Can't exit first hiding place

I just bought the game and exit my cell. Once I unlock the gate and the rat comes, I enter the hiding spot and I can't get out of it. Using KB/M, W10, GTX 1080, i7-5820k, 64GB RAM

Going out is the same input than hidding, left mouse button.

The prompt tells me that to get into a chest to hide, you press both left and right mouse buttons. I do this and I cannot get out. I press just one mouse button, left or right, both of them at the same time, and I still cannot get out.

I was able to pass the first rat by going into my cell, now I am trying to hide in other parts of the game and I still can't get out, making this game unplayable. I also can't save when I am hiding, either quicksave or manually saving.

I fixed it. It turns out having my ransomware protection on prevented the game from saving progress and allowing me to exit hiding spots, so I turned it off for the goat.exe. I've been playing for a couple of hours now and so far I really like it!

Sure, I use Bitdefender 2018. I've had some issues with other games, but I've always gotten a popup telling me so. But with this I did not get one so I had no idea it was being affected.

Is there any way that you can turn it off then turn ransomware back on so it doesnt happen again?

I just made sure that goat.exe was allowed to access files in 'My Documents'. That's what was giving me the issues. My ransomware protection is turned on for all programs I have not authorized. But I trust goat.exe, since it is the game executable. I leave my ransomware protection on all the time. Now I know that if I have issues with a game, any game, that I need to check to see if the *.exe is being blocked from writing files by Bitdefender.

I can also confirm that Bitdefender 2018 has put Goat.exe in quarantine and blocked it. Here is a screenshots:

According to Google, google.exe is not a good thing to have. So are there any other suggestions?

Had the same issue of being trapped in cell but for two different reasons. 1st time I couldn't get into the chest. After a bit I figured out that on my laptop pad it's impossible to click both mouse buttons simultaneously. Making the game unplayable. (Dell Inspirion) Okay, so I dug out my old mouse. 2nd try the cell gate wouldn't open. Got the message the guard was alerted but he never showed up. Trapping me eternally in the room.
Not a good start for a game due to launch in a month.

Can confirm. BitDefender was a culprit in OneShot as well, and I just had the same problem. BD seems like a good program, but I think maybe it's time to switch to another. It's good, but it's...overeager.
