S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

"Parental Control: Acess Restricted"
I can't get the game to launch at all, it just gets the aforementioned "Parental Control" error.

The game ran fine when I was in Windows XP, but since then I've upgraded to a stripped down version of Windows 7 called Tiny7. I get the feeling that has something to do with it, but I haven't been able to figure out any solution.

Has anyone else had this problem?

EDIT: I forgot to mention, the only mod I have installed is Misery 1.0, but it seems to do it regardless of if I have a mod installed.

right click on game icon and try to "Run as administrator"

I'd read that could help, but it didn't work when I tried it.

I found that thread when investigating the issue, none of the solutions they provided were of help, sadly.

Re-install the game, run as admin, then maybe go into the files through steam and see if anything has a parental control on it. I had this and Re-installed which worked for me.

I tried reinstalling, but that didn't seem to solve it. I don't have Parental Controls available in my installation of Windows at all, so nothing has parental controls on it.

I've never heard of Tiny 7 but by the looks of Googling it, it isn't by Microsoft you should only stick to offical Windows versions
God only knows what changes have been made to core system files

"Windows Tiny 7, is not a full legal version to install and run as a computer. The guy that distributes the software, Makes it clear that he is just trying to see how little of processes he can make it to before the operating system is none functional. His goal is to run the operating system with as few resources and processes as possible. He is uploading the software for you to look at what he did, and then give him ideas as to what to do next. He has no intentions of you making this your primary operating system on your primary computer."

Tiny7 was never meant to be an OS for your daily use. It is an experiment and nothing more. Therein lies your problem. You need to either go back to XP or just get W7 or W8.

Alright, bugger off about the fact he's running Tiny7, I have the issue as well and I have a full version of Windows 7, but for some reason I seem to be lacking Parental Controls entirely.

What we need here is you all to shut up about "get the right OS" and start talking about an actual solution. I have done everything in my power to fix this client-side as far as I know. I am not a coder, nor do I know about the core files of Call of Pripyat, but I know this problem was caused from running Windows 7 without Parental Controls, which is in some way associated with Call of Pripyat as a necessary function within it's codes somewhere, requiring parental control to be working and installed for it to operate.

What we need is an actual solution to the problem. Someone want to start working on the solution for those of us without Parental Control on our computer? That'd be great. Otherwise, we know how we could fix it (by buying/reinstalling a whole new OS and wiping our computer which if that is all you have to say, then please leave) but we'd much rather adjust some files - or remove them - than reinstall our operating system and computer's main files, or go through the process of backing everything up.

So, can we get some REAL solutions here from maybe a coder or someone with ACTUAL knowledge on this subject? Not just some script-kiddies who tell people "better reinstall" - the most useless advice I've heard to date on this subject.

Every Legitimate W7 OS has Parental Controls. key word is LEGITIMATE.

Just because you cannot find them or they are unavailable does not mean it is not there.

I would suggest asking your mommy to fix it for you and stop crying and insulting everyone who has real solutions for those who arent running legit operating systems. Tiny7 is his problem. Why dont you bugger off to your own thread about it? there is no 'we' here. His problem is because of T7. Yours is because you arent allowed to play big boy games and dont know how to work your computer.

With your attitude, even if I had the answer I wouldnt give it to you.

Having a very similar problem. Running windows 7 home 64. Have tried everything under the sun from re-installing as admin, messing with parental controls(restarting using services.msc, turning on/off and setting up new user account with controls) and have even tried messing with lines of code from the install files to see if it can be removed. Game worked fine 2 weeks aga...! Any suggestions would be much appreciated
