Tips for killing poltergeist?

I always use a knife to kill them. Just keep on hitting the middle of the poltergeist and you will kill it!

Shotgun then switch a to a rifle, keep moving so they cant throw things at you

A Knife is a perfectly valid tactic if the difficulty isn't up too high. If it is then it's a waste of resources/an act of futility.

Mostly though it's just going to be a low-moderate amount of bullets and a moderate-high amount of patience.

Also what mod, if any, are you playing? I've had to take one out with my makarov on vanilla but fuq dat for some of those mods out there.

well im playing misery mod and i get fuqed up when i try o kill the polterguiest it literally kills me in about 4 - 6 seconds and i have a seva suit equipped and i still die

Well, I don't really know what to say in regards to Misery. My weapon loadout is currently being switched around because my 92f that I usually carry regardless of the mod is kind of lacking in stopping power in Misery. I couldn't take down the Poltergeist either (With a Colt 1911 Modern adn a Sawn-Off).

RPG is good but not every stalker carrys one so i when i don't have my rpg i use the auto shotguns and AK's and nades to put them down..

If you're a sniper class in Misery, you could try to take them down from far away before they see you. Then you have your shotgun as a backup, usually I kill them with grenades or sniper rifles. Honestly I don't know what to tell you, Poltgeists is my worse enemy in Misery, next to those damn dogs.

a .357 with incendiary rounds worked out really well. Also, if you can get ahold on a Vintovka Mosina and mod it to use modern rounds, that one works out really well. Also, any rifle that can shoot 5.56x45mm rounds regardless if it's modded works ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wonders against any mutants even poltergeist. Plus the grenade launcher helps.

Actually I figured out something. Stay of the damage aura, hit them with whatever rifle, SMG, or gun you have. Shoot at it once, wait for the blue screen to disappear, repeat. Screw carrying a rocket launcher, too heavy and too expensive.

Yeah, I only carried around an RPG in Misery freeplay after I had an exoskeleton suit. It has the most amazing zoom and it was a lot of fun to take out unsuspecting groups of mercenaries from huge range with a single shot while standing on the deck of the Shadovsk. For a while. I don't carry it anymore: like you said, it's too heavy.

I have almost 2 million rubles and over 1000 kilos of useful stuff collected in my base stashes, so nothing is too expensive. I can almost buy up Owl's entire store.

RPG is cheap only 1500 a round witch is kinda cheap as... heavy you must be joking....

The point you are making is incorrect when put into the context of the argument that you missed. That is, the context is in the Misery mod. OG-7V warheads are somewhere around 12k a piece and the RPG itself is probably somewhere around 60k but that's just a guess. Realistically the warheads are 2Kg a piece and you usually have about 3-6Kg of room to carry ammunition, food, medical supplies and other guns.

No, an RPG-7 with munitions is not a practical choice in Misery.
