Canon Ending(s)?
S2 is released but my computer isn't strong enough to play it, but I'm curious about the endings of CoP and want to know which ones are Canon. So first of all it's obvious that endings for Vano, Strider, Degtyarev, Zulu, Sokolov and Strelok are canon. (It's all a no-brainer, duh.) But what about Kovalsky? Also, which faction took over Yanov? Is it Duty or Freedom? Unless they signed truce and joined Loners? Which faction took over Skadovsk? Is it Bandits or Loners? Unless they are all wiped out by Bloodsuckers and if so their nest is destroyed or not? Did Stalkers managed to set up a camp at Laundromat and start going for raids in Pripyat with help of Garry? Or Garry's stories about Military's struggle scared them away from Pripyat? Any help would be great because I'm gonna try to get the 100% Canon Ending in my next playthrough.

It's kinda hard to actually pinpoint all of the canon choices as S2 takes place 9 whole years after the events of CoP, and as such many events have happened in the Zone which may have overridden Degtyarev's choices in the game (Pripyat reputation, fate of the Skadovsk and Yanov, etc.). The only 100% confirmed canon choices in CoP that have some kind of influence on the plot of S2 or can be mentioned by random NPCs are the following:

Finish the game with Strelok, Zulu and Strider alive, complete all quests from Hermann and Ozersky and leave everyone from the Topol's team alive so they could form their own research team, find Cardan's dead buddies, complete all mutant hunting quests on Yanov.

There are also kinda implied choices which could've canonically happened in CoP, but are not clearly discussed in S2 dialogues and notes: remain neutral and do not pick sides in Skadovsk conflict, the same goes for the Yanov station, complete evacuation with minimal losses so the stalkers could continue Pripyat raids, find Oasis.

My pc wont take Stalker 2 for a while but
As my understanding for CANON, over Yanov, Duty / Freedom lives in peace there no one was dismissed. Skadovsk Its still ruled by loners w Beard sending ppl to search for artifacts for him. The bloodS lair was destroyed and Zaton lived a bit more relax bc of that.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
