can someone give a detalied discription of how to fix this i have deleted the game so many times and downloaded them it shows the load screen when u first click it but says the engine stoped working and i downloaded the engine off of MODDB and installed that but still says it ???? plz help someone

Try deleting shader cache , tmp and user in

\Steam\steamapps\common\Stalker Call of Pripyat\_appdata_


Then verify the game files with steam again


Maybe there are files somewhere else or you could delete the entire game from the steam folder and redownload (not uninstall via steam since that often leaves stuff)


You could try stalker forums on reddit or gsc website also?

i need to know how to manully restart the game ????

it has stoped again it launches now but on main menu it keeps freezing and i have to turn my computer off

Verify the game integrity if you haven't and launch it in windowed mode so that you can do control+alt+delete to close it with windows task manager if it freezes. I am pretty much out of ideas to fix it outside of a full delete (delete the entire game in the steam folder except saved games folder maybe) and redownload/reinstall.
