Stalker ANOMALY custom / GAMMA

Found Anomaly custom mod pack that make the game looks amazing.
However the AI is absolutely godly. Detection / aim: i can crouch at night in trees and they can still spot you and beam you. Unrealistic.
Is there a way to tweak - any tips?

How Anomaly (all 3 vanilla games in 1?) compare overall to vanilla experience of each individual game?

Is GAMMA even more hardcore? Did not play the vanilla original so long, dont recall how the AI was there in comparison.

So, let me break it down.

Anomaly is indeed a fantastic modpack, but it IS a bit harder than your normal experience in the original Stalker games. Mostly due to resources being more necessary, and more limited.

Gamma is ALSO a fantastic modpack, and it is MUCH harder than the vanilla experience. Even people who are veterans of the Stalker games can struggle to make any progress in Gamma.

If you haven't yet, definitely recommend playing the older games. Well... I recommend playing Shadow of Chernobyl. You can use the Zone Reclamation Project for a mostly vanilla experience.

Clear Sky is... fine, but not fantastic unless you LOVE the gunplay of Shadow of Chernobyl, and Call of Pripyat is fine without mods at all. After that, go ahead and go wild with the modpacks.

thank you - i feel the challenge in Anomaly custom indeed. Dont understand not even can repair weapons yet. I would consider to replay ORIGINAL trilogy IF it can look like Anomaly custom.
How are the stories in Anomaly - i have yet to even complete a 1st green story quest. Just struggling to stay alive.
My understanding is that Anomaly is largely combined all 3 games into 1 - but that maybe be a map. Does Anomaly also contain majority of quests from orig. trilogy?

Graphics are important - i just cant handle vanilla. I'll buy STALKER 2 when they fix issues and ALIFE 2,0 - that will be a while.

Try Gamma in Ironman 1 life only, Veteran/Survival difficulty in Agony mode with no saving or scumming while wounded, trust me nobody has done that playthrough successfully yet.

Don't forget to use all your points before hitting start game, very important if you want to survive.

Anomaly takes place AFTER the other games, so it has it's own set of quests. One main path story quest that's mainly just an excuse to move you from area to area and meet characters from the other games. The rest unless I'm wrong are all randomly generated side missions. You aren't meant to play Anomaly or Gamma for the story, you are meant to play it mostly doing the randomly generated side quests and collecting artifacts, upgrading gear, and when you have mastered the area you are at, you move to the next area. Rinse and repeat.

ok, thanks for the larger picture as im strugling to figure what to focus on in Anomaly - finaly managed to repair AK12 with a good scope as 1st decent assault rifle. I play on HARD and yes i SAVE a lot.

Anyone here would recommend the story or setting of trilogy over Anomaly? If the orig. trilogy gets remastered and look like Anomaly custom or better - i would love to replay those for the story.

Realized i never installed the patch file for the Anomaly custom. On the orig mod team website, the main file i downloaded and installed, but the patch file fails to download.
Anyone lucky to have it or have another link?

If you want to play the original 3, you have a few options.
Shadow of Chernobyl: Radiophobia 3 is SoC, rebuilt on a newer engine. Doesn't look as good as say Anomaly Custom, etc...but, it's really well made. The people on the Discord are some of the best around. The other one I would suggest, Autumn Aurora. AA is a modpack for the original SoC, so not rebuilt...but man, is it good! Radiophobia 3 is standalone, which is another benefit. Anyone can download it, install and play it without owning the original (Although, show GSC some love and throw em a few bucks. The OG3 go on sale constantly)

Clear Sky: Not as many options for this one...Last Fallout Overhaul is really well built. I personally think CS is a great looking game as is. LFO brings it a little closer to modern graphics, however it does add alot of things not found in base game. Another one is ABR CS. This focuses a lot on gunplay and some updates to graphics...Another one I recently started playing is, Ram's Renewal or Sky Renewal. It's the same mod-pack, the author just changed it's name in the middle of development.

Call of Pripyat: Honestly...You don't really need anything for this one. lol. This is a fantastic game as-is. However! There's quite a few mod-packs you can still get to make it even better. One is ABR CoP. It's ABR CS for CoP. Focusing a lot on gunplay. The one I really enjoyed is GSWR + StCOP. GSWR upgrades graphics and the weather system, while StCOP updates alot of the gunplay and whatnot. I loved it! With that said, someone put out GSWR+STCOP: Wasteland Edition...don't bother with this one. They added a bunch of new mutants and some other additions that I just didn't care for...but the worst part were the crashes. Once I got to a certain point in 2 different saves, it was crashing every 15-20 minutes. So avoid this "wasteland edition" imho.

As for anomaly, there are so many dang modpacks...there's no way I could go over them. GAMMA is that hardcore survival
EFP is more for FPS players.
Anomaly Custom is sort of in the middle of the above 2
Hayzee's Anomaly Custom...this one breaks my ehart a bit. He built an awesome foundation, but the last few months, Hayzee has lost his way. It's a mess. There's no direction or vision...Hopefully he realizes and gets back on track.
