Random Radiation Problem
not sure how much help ill be getting but any will be appreciated. so now the problem. im getting a problem where if i sell or turn in artefacts "even put them in lead lined containers or the artefact modules or the storage box" the second certain ones is packed away and completely out of my inventory i start suddenly getting radiated from nothing. dredge wheel. oasis. jellyfish. the 3 i can remember off the top of my head. its quite weird. no im not playing with the radiating sun or whatever. no black road. yes its rookie because i like a game to be a game first and foremost and less loading screen. but thats just opinions. im not hungry im not "forgetting" an artefact in a belt its litterally lets say if i have 1 jellyfish on me. i put it in the storage lead lined container. now i start getting radiation if i cure it it just pops right on back. if i put a jellyfish in the storage box. bam more radiation. it happends with many artefacts. its honestly a bit annoying because the only way to not get the radiation from getting rid of artefacts is to simply not pick them up to begin with. but that leaves out the oasis quest the dredge wheel quest "wich in turn locks out i believe artefact hunting for beard meaning potential veles detector early on" and the like. anyone got a clue as to what the heck misery did to these artefacts to make em give radiation to you even if they are no longer in the player inventory o.o?

i guess they tried to make it feel more realistic.

the problem being i dont have any artefacts on me. at all. not in the belt not in the containers not in my inventory at all. ive cleared the radiation at the doctor to give it the big hammer of antirads but it just returns imidiatly after the treatment. its not part of intention of that im preatty sure as its only some artefacts that triggers this glitch. ive had to reload a hard save and just not pick up the dredge wheel and i guess lose out on veles detector early on along with easy obtained artefacts via murdering artefact hunters "oh how bad i am X3"
hmmm, it could a be glitch or the area you are in

i dont think its the area as it will do it in all the game areas. it is most definetly a glitch too as its only some artefacts. going to go dive into the LTX files and see if i can spot an "anomaly" in there tho i doubt ill be able to see much. perhaps trying to look for positive radiation in a place where it doesnt belong who knows. the thing that puzzles me it seems im one of very few that has this issue so theres no help to find on googs
i havent played misery that much to be honest. Didn't really like it, can't really say why.
You should give Sigerious a try, my favourite. Alot less glitches and randomness that has no explanation to it.

i might give it a try. as BS as misery can be sometimes i am enjoying it though its just some things im not that pleased with like the +50 random items thats usefull in repair but else is just clutter or the pinpoint accuracy of AI even at night stealth just dont seem to do well for me x3 but besides that its still quite fun. now if only they hadnt nerfed artefacts. i mean the whole idea behind stalker is people want to get rich fast so they went into the zone to hunt down artefacts and sell em high. so when they dont sell for anything more than pocket change and has the statistics of a wet sock now that misery has ttouched em it makes me a bit irked. like jellyfish if i remember right used to give antiradiation but now its just radioactive that and most artefacts seem to generally have sort of the same stats like thermal acid and shock. id be much happier if artefacts would be rarer worth more and have better stats sure some should have high radiation but thats why youd grab a high antiradiation one to negate it o.o

Hi-tier artifacts are still pretty usefull.
"Flame", for one, is pretty OP: huge bleeding protection AND direct damage reduction.

theres a few yeah but some of the old artefacts have just been butchered. i dont think theres a single one that gives anti rad anymore. i get why cuz its to make you smoke cigs or use expensive drugs its still preatty anoying x3 but yeah i usually keep a fireball "i think" on hand at most times for its +30 bleeding reduction i think it is.

The 1st tier of artifacts are supposed to be worthless. Nothing more than something you sell to get some cash. Look at them as small cash reserves not usable items. Also, this is a reported issue. Google it.

Hmm, seems you are right. I know I read about other users having this issue on the misery forums however it appears that the thread was removed for some reason or another. Regardless....I suggest completely emptying your inventory save for rad removing items and get rid of the radiation, if you still recieve rads you are probably experiencing the same bug and a fresh installation would probably benefit you quite a bit.

It sounds like something has gotten bugged and the game is reading artifacts in LLC and IAC's as being out of the box....So let me make sure I understand....When you have it outside the containers you do NOT get rads....but when you put them in the container....You DO get rads?

well it happens if i sell an artefact or store it in a box or if i put it in the lead lined container so i dont think its the useful artefact containers that give you the benefits sadly. fresh reinstalls ive done countless and actually wiped misery 2.1 from my system to upgrade to 2.1.1 "the updater messed something up so had to do a clean install" so its as fresh as it could be. well fresh as in 3 days anyway. it has happened before that tho since misery 2.0 wich is preatty weird. going to go look more tomorrow and hope to find something about it thanks for looking though i apreciate it :fhappy:

I take it you started with new saves.....Misery 2.1.1 isn't compatible with other saves. Also, what do you mean " I don't think it's the useful artifact containers that give you the benefits " sorry I'm honestly just not understanding what you mean there.

yeah its fresh saves each time. also the artifact modules the ones you can put an artifact into and itll remove most of the radiation if not all and keep the benefits so you can use it in your belt. sorry for not being clearer :) its the modules like the "improvised artifact module" IAM and the other two types
