I love hard, challenging games. I am new to stalker, and doing my best to try to enjoy it.

And I'd be lying if I said I was enjoying it. I'm using three mods: Misery 2.2, AtmosFear and the nature enhancing thing thats meant to be used with it. However, I frankly did not want to be bored by a easy peasy experience so I installed the game in hard mode, and I didn't get hard mode.

I got "I am a ******** program that proper game balance is discarded like Tom Brady hurling a new born out a window, and this 'form of difficulty' is an affront to God."

Im at a loss for words. In real life I know how to aim a gun, but the aim is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ janky, and the tiny pinpoint reticle makes me want to puke because if you don't aim for the head exactly you'll blow through 9 bullets to kill one zombie.

And no, I don't think wasting my ammo is fun. And it ain't worth playing Black Road, since the radiation in the daylight sky will kill you if the mutants don't with your tiny knife and no body armor.

Yeah. Black Road ain't fun. It ain't even logical. You should have the magic "K Button" from Postal 2. That would make the most sense when you load in. Rant over, I'm going to now go slaughter more bandits and survive insane mutants with my German AR 44. Cheers.

Misery isn't for everyone, not by a long shot, it is loathed by many in fact. You either like what it does or you don't. Better to just leave it at that.

Give Vanilla a try, or try the Gunslinger mod which focuses on quality/realistic weapon animations et al.. You might have a better time with it.

Yeah Misery is not a good representation of the game by any metric. It's its own thing. Some people like it, but it's not an "original vanilla" stalker experience by any stretch of the imagination.

Why would anyone install a mod for the first playthrough before experiencing the actual game first, and worse, choose the most infamous one that is Misery, an awful, hyped up bloatfest with tons of artificial difficulty attached to it and then complain?

Either play the original and then criticize it or move on to the Misery main page on ModDB and voice your thoughts. You thought someone elses idea of what STALKER should be sucked, not the actual game. This thread makes zero sense.

In the end you will get your wish, as STALKER 2 will definitely be better than Misery, it's not an hard task to accomplish.

Misery isn't a Stalker game, and really more of a fetish than a game anyway.

First time I've heard it called that. Misery is a mod for Call Of Pripyat just like any other mod and it doesn't change the vanilla game apart from making the journey much more difficult. The off the scale difficulty of the mod is made clear to anyone interested in trying Misery because it's part of the introduction by the dev team. It's designed to last weeks or months and be as frustrating as hell but like any game you can find ways of making life easier.

I just wish Misery or any CoP mod had a way of recording stats like bullets used, head shot percentage, and other information I can try to beat next time.

I think you have Not played hard Games at all in your gaming life. Go try war in the Pacific or Something. A Manual with 220 Pages and a Game lengths that Takes YEARS to finnish.

Misery is crap, but anyone new should play Vanilla. Then probably Anomaly, then story focused mods.
