How do i reach the Jupiter station?

I want to join up with Freedom faction but i cant find a safe path to the Jupiter station. on one hand the merc base is holding me back, on the other theres this anomaly that is wrecking my health, and the i cant climb the hills, any advice?

Pilot can take you there from the Skadovsk for a set fee. You cannot simply walk there.
If you progress the main story in Zaton far enough, you can reduce the cost to go by quite a hefty sum.

As a side note, the merc station is friendly to you at first, and if you feed them you can come and go from their base freely, allowing you to get a quest item that is very useful.

Oh and btw i didnt know the mercs were friendly, but if they do open fire on me, ill be screwed, im not really prepared...

You just need to put your weapon away and not take it out in the compound. The lead merc will warn you, and you need to complete his side quest to actually go further without them turning hostile on you.

The ones at the waste processing station are hostile always though.

Pilot led me to the area, im going to the checkpoint, im about to have my first encounter with my favorite faction

You can go to the merc base at the substation workshops with the food already and initiate and complete the mission for them right there and then and it's worth doing early game in vanilla CoP because there are useful items in the base and it has a blowout safe room at the back. Useful for that corner of the map. Something I've noticed in vanilla CoP is that the mercs at the workshops eventually become hostile towards me when I approach so maybe there is something in the missions that cause them to eventually become hostile. They are static so can easily be avoided if I'm not prepared or I can infiltrate the place and take everyone out with headshots and still have rounds left over in my assault rifle magazine. It's creating my own challenges like that which make the game so enjoyable. I remember one time I was involved in a firefight with the mercs and when a blowout started they all retreated to the back room and didn't seem concerned that I joined them. They went from trying to blow my head off to waiting with me in a packed room full of mercs for the blow out to pass.

Pilot can take you to Jupiter but check out the helicopter crash at the Iron Forest first.

yeah...update, they chased me to the ranger station (btw i did complete the task there before this all went down) and i was forced to ambush them from time to time, one time it crashed, but i was able to kill the 2 guys with the exo suits, ill go inside the base when nimble has my order ready, when i go inside wish me luck.

That's a long way to chase you from their Merc base, all the way across to the Ranger Station, you need to start looking at using the environment to help you out.

Yeah this sounds like a bug or maybe a mod. They don't leave their little compound area for anything.

You've confused the places, its either of these.

1: Merc base....the Old Workshops...only one Merc has an exoskeleton armor here.... or
2: Merc base.... Waste station.....this is the only place i know where two Merc's have exoskeleton armor.

Either way, learn to use the environment, use other enemies to take over the fight for you to help lessen the odds.
