The Armed Zone 2.0 Traders Stock
Enjoying this addon to Misery and how it has made enemy NPCs much more aggressive. I've noticed a huge increase in new weapons and ammunition.

I've got to the point where I need to go to the admin section of the Jupiter plant but none of the traders have any decent weapons. I'm not sure if this is by design but I've completed quite a few missions now and was hoping the traders selections would have increased. Instead Owl never has more than ten assault weapons and they are all low tier. When do I unlock the better and more unique weapons TAZ has to offer? If it's a case of waiting I'll do that but my first visit to the Jupiter plant is always a big mission because of all the smaller jobs I do while I'm there such as getting all the documents and triggering Black's squad. I like to go prepared with some serious fire power. Powerful sniper for Controllers and Poltergeists and a decent assault weapon with grenade launcher for everything else.

I feel under prepared with my current choices but they are the best of what I can buy or have found on NPCs. My primary is the AKM (customised) and the 7.62x39mm AP rounds for human targets and the FMJ version for mutants. I've realised from being killed a lot by Snorks that the wrong ammo type can make a big difference with this addon. I used the AP rounds on a Snork and it didn't even flinch. My secondary weapon is the sniper M16A4 SDM-R (alt) which packs a punch but I prefer an adjustable scope so I'm hoping I find one soon. As a backup sidearm I have the Sig Saur P226 but it would be uncommon for me to use that on this mission. I always bring repair kits for armour and weapons because they get used to much repair kits are essential. To me this part of the game when I need to raid the Jupiter plant for the first time is the most exiting and can be the most challenging.

When do the eye watering guns become available? Is TAZ scripted to update the trader inventories as the main mission progresses?

Just realised that there are more traders such as Nimble and Sultan with a lot more variety of weapons and they change with each reload. Nimble even has an exo in his inventory.

I dont have TAZ but i do know the inventories where gated by either progression or achievements.

For example getting 200,000 RU and obtaining the Weathly Client updates traders inventories to the next tier.

I think the only way to get a Seva Suit in stalk misery is by completing every single scientist mission including the veles detectors for Owl.

These are the only things that seemed to lock the next tier equipment. Owls Stock inventory can potentially have end game weapons even at the start but its super rare. You would have to save scum over and over till he has the weapon you want.

So my advice is to save up 200,000 RU and get the wealthy client achievement which then seems to effect traders inventories.

I think you unlock the SEVA in Misery when you have been to the Jupiter plant and picked up the documents that unlock the Road To Pripyat mission. When you have that mission in your journal you can buy a SEVA from Nimble and I think traders start selling them. The exo is never available until after visiting Pripyat and the Misery devs have been very cunning with how you can't tinker with the trader files to add something early in the game like you can do with other mods. Now I know there are a lot more traders I've been able to check out a lot of weapons like a 180,000 sniper. Even Trapper has a trader button and a shed load of guns for sale. I'm starting to discover more of the 300+ guns TAZ adds to Misery. All the ammo is becoming confusing though and I can't work out what is worth keeping and what I should sell to clear out.

I've got past the 200k mark so I think TAZ alters how the traders inventory increase because the main ones never seem to improve. I managed to get them selling Vog-25s and M203s after completing enough missions on Zaton and Yaonv but they only sell 1 of each at a time which makes it a pain to stock up.

The way TAZ has changed how the enemy react to me is incredible and I notice how the smoke discharge from their weapons can create a kind of vapour trail when they are firing and advancing and they advance a lot. Before TAZ I could stand behind the large metal shed at the Waste Plant near the truck and coax bandits towards me which they would do one or two at a time making it easy pickings. Now with TAZ installed they will rush towards me en masse so before I know it I have 5 bandits surrounding me. I've had to use the life saving survival kits and sprint away to safety on many occasions since installing TAZ. It makes me wonder how difficult it could become later in the game especially the Pripyat missions.

Depends if they revamped enemy grenade use and or AI grenade launcher use. In stock Misery it can be really brutal at times. Especially in low stealth situations where the enemy can really see you, they just start spamming nades in your direction. Wonder if they fixed a bit of that in TAZ.

I want to give it a try might install it soon looks good.

You can learn some interesting things about the achievments in your PDA if you look under the stats tab. For example most achievements increase your reputation and it says " other stalkers know of your deeds" etc.

If you kill a bunch of bandits you get some achievement that actually tells you if you mouse over it "You are no friends of bandits and random merc squads will come for you when you least expect it"

Or if you get the friend of Duty achievement "You have shown loyalty to duty and freedom members will treat you as such"

The Wealth Achievements actually says something like " You have built considerable wealth and the traders will offer you better goods"

So maybe they removed the affects of these achievements in TAZ im not sure but they have a moderate impact on each playthrough.

Have you had any issues with stability using TAZ compared to your experience without it ?

Anyways ive read alot about TAZ and you maybe just have to experiment with some new calibers and ammo. The penetration and walling effect intrigues me. Not so much if the AI can do it however considering they sometimes mag dump at walls pointing at you because they get glitched out lol.

I've noticed I'm being killed by grenades a lot less with TAZ and looted very few grenades from enemies. It's been stable so far but does crash sometimes although I'm using onboard graphics. I had to turn down the switch distance a bit because some saved game files were not loading but it seems to have been fixed by setting it to 290.

TAZ is definitely something that needs a pen and paper and a lot of experimenting. If only there was a mod that gives you an ingame journal that you can add your own notes to. Because of all the weapons there are also vast amounts of ammo with different effects.

I've not been to the Jupiter plant yet and I already have a fully upgraded exo and two high power weapons so am feeling a bit overpowered. I think I'm going to activate the spawn menu if there is one and play around with the ammo I have against spawned mutants and armoured NPCs so I can start making a list of rounds that are worth keeping and what I should sell straight away to keep the backpack down. Then start a new game. The icons of the ammo is a bit blurry in the inventory screen which can make it hard to work them out but that's only a minor criticism. Eventually my memory will get used to them.

I was hoping for some new explosives but there isn't any. It retains the IEDs, powder cans, mines and grenades but I wanted something a lot more meaty.

Any updates? Did you figure out exactly how you get higher tier weapon trading?

Also in your last reply you mention you had a fully upgraded exo and high tier weapons how did you manage that?
Thanks.
