The handheld flashlight isn't exactly working for me, it's like a flat texture. Is there a mod out there to fix this or enable the head mounted one?

I know how to do that, it's not working in the sense of there-is-just-some-flat-light-texture pretending to be light. Doesn't do anything at all, just flat texture, not the way the head-flashlight works.

Edit: changed description accordingly.
Fixed it, had to play around with advaced options and lighting distance solved the problem.:steamfacepalm:
Okay, this is weird, works in my military save but not for th loner.
So now this is fixed too after going through options again.
GRRRRRR! Ceased to work as of today. Is there any mod for 1.5b R7 which would add the head flashlight?
Head lamp should be in that game unless its ancient. Id just scrap COC tbh and get Anomaly. COC is dated and pointless.

That's COC on steroids.....

So unfair.
CoC is HUGE and offers an exceptional self standing sandbox experience encompassing all of the Stalker world.
Its legendary creator Alundaio intended it to serve as a basis for future mods if i understood correctly, so it was not even fully intended to be a self-standing mod, more like offering a perfect canvas for the modders to paint on.
To call this monumental work dated and pointless is just unfair.
Well thats exactly what it is a Basis for Anomaly. You can do a playthrough exactly like COC vanilla or you can change a multiple number of things. You can make the Economy as easy or as hard as you want as well as the AI all at the start screen. Warfare is an option as well as all the stock options from COC story mode or Iron man.

Anomaly is coc but with more guns and some misery mechanics. However you can customise each playthrough to your liking with drastic changes to difficulty as well as economy.

Thats why COC is dated and pointless. The most bare bones version of Anomaly offers the same thing as well as other options for even more replay. Which makes COC 100% Obsolete in every possible way sry to say.

People think its Misery and COC combined but in reality right at a new game start menu you can make a playthrough that is easier than any version of stalker you have ever seen. Or if you want you can ramp it up to insane levels of masochism. It caters to all casuals and hardcore alike.

Sry i had a hard time explaining this to anyone who hasnt played Anomaly. TL:DR Anomaly contains everything thats in COC but adds more (if you want).

Wait a sec, this would mean I can enable warfare even while playing the stories? And maybe I've missed it but is the simplified disable-miracle machine-disable brain scorcher-find documents-story from COC in there? The ModDB description just mentions three (or four, not sure) stories and that's it.
yes there are 3 main quest lines that are playable by the main factions.

Mysteries of the Zone that starts by talking to the stalker doctor in the Swamps.

Living Legend where you hear about Strelok and persue him.

as well as another one after all that takes place. I personally have not done them yet but im gonna try them on my current Merc playthrough. Apparently i have to disguise myself as a stalker in order to talk to Doc in swamps which is another feature of anomaly.

Ontop of this you have DocX quest lines from all the major factions as well as some other scripted mini missions from the main characters. Things like "From Ukraine With Love" for example from freedom.

I dont believe that Warfare is compatible with Story Mode.

But everything from COC, every level etc is in Anomaly.

An example of Anomaly I started as a Merc in Dead City. The path to the north which is Leminsk is blocked off by the brain scorcher, the path to the south which goes to Yantar is blocked off by the X-16 lab psy emission there. So you cant even go to several maps without shutting down the brain scorcher and getting a psy helmet. I think that anyone can order the Psy helmet from the scientist bunker in Yantar whether you be in story mode or not and its essential to even get to half the maps. Otherwise you immediately Die because your brain melts.

So as a Merc right now Im currently doing trips from dead city main base to freedom base to the bandit base and doing missions for all 3 building some gear. I have the main quest enabled by speaking to stalkers around the zone. My next step after building a full kit will be to head all the way down to the Swamps and look for Doctor in a stalker or Clearsky disguise and go from there.

Also living legend starts at a random time when you see mention of Strelok on your PDA, you just go ask people about him and it starts the quest to persue his last known locations.

I never beat the main story in COC either but i assume its exactly the same as one of those 3 missions in Anomaly.

Settings>The Zone>Warfare, looks like not the tactical warfare with capturing territories but full scale war. I'll have to try it next time I start a new game.

Playing Ecologist, got the Living Legend from Sakharov, seems to depend on your faction.
At least not everyone wants to shoot me on sight and I can sleep at Agroprom or where ever, except for bandits and monolith bases.

Down in Strelok's hideout in Agroprom there are the military docs in a hardcase, who'd be interested in those? And what about X-18 and all the other places where you can find some?
Don't want to blow a story out of curiosity.
Just dont go down to those places until you are told to do so for a mission. Getting the docs first doesnt hurt anything you will just complete that step sooner and hand in instantly at the quest giver.

Ecologist are allies with Military. Bandits are only friendly with Mercs and possible Freedom i think. Monolith are hostile to everyone.

Make sure you understand your factions alliances or it will create some serious reputation issues if you kill the wrong people.

Thats the number one thing i think about when picking alliance is who do i wanna farm and or be allies with?

As before i never actually did the story missions yet im gonna have to buckle down and make an effort to do them all.

Exploring the places beforehand seems like a good idea, at least I get my memory straight about where and what and the stash should be *here* :)

Yeah, almost everyone except bandits or monolith are friends or neutral, good for getting back into the zone, long time no see. Lost Alpha was the last one to make me go there again after some extensive years of SoC and CS and that's about three years ago.
