Misery Quick Release System
Does anyone use this and is it safe to leave it out in the open or can other Stalkers dip in to it if they happen to walk by it and take items? In the description on the themiserymod.co.uk they say when they returned to it some items were missing but I'm not sure if they are just being colourful or if other NPCs can actually remove items from it.

I've not bought it yet but if it's completely safe I might give it a try. I would have so many items it would be hard to tell if anything has gone missing so will only use if it it's 100% safe from opportunistic stalkers.

The same question for the backpacks. If I place one down where stalkers are likely to see it can they take items from it?

If i remember right other stalkers that come across it might take your stuff although i am not quite sure, i might have just forgotten where i left it that time....

They are essentially the same mechanic. The quick release system will drop your inventory into a backpack. Im not sure anyone who whould actually use this feature as you will lose all your ammo and supplies even if just temporarily. The items will remain in the backpack as a new marked stash on your world map. I think you can even name the stash as well.. The dropped back packs you can buy work in the same manner.

Ive never had items get taken from them. I have maybe 1 or 2 backpacks per zone spread out just in case i need to offload some loot durings raids and such.

I think the quick release takes up a belt slot and weighs something, so its better to just travel light.

Misery also has a very dynamic stamina system that can be boosted in a number of ways. Maximum satiety is 33% stamina and you should aim for this at all times. It will allow you to move around at a constant run pace if you are not overencumbered.

For when you do need to run and are overencumbered there are drugs. You got caffien pills, energy drinks, Hercules, Cocaine and Adrenaline. If you have max satiety and pop something like cocaine or adrenaline then you will get around 70% Stamina recovery which is unlimited run speed even if you are over encumbered.

Dont overthink alot of the gimmicky crap in Misery its best to just avoid it because alot of its systems are either obsolete or pointless.
The literal ONLY purpose for the Emergency/Quick Release is if you have a massive haul and are in the middle of a field nowhere near cover when an Emission arrives. At that point you're meant to drop the pack, run for cover, come back and pick it all back up.

I put it to the test and while it doesn't quite do as intended it's still worth carrying. Mainly because it's only two kilos which is the same as a regular PDA marked backpack. When dropped it looks and acts the same as a PDA marked backpack and you can add/remove items from it without picking it up. Or you can pick up all contents which also picks up the backpack and it becomes the QRS again so it's essentially a backpack that can be dropped in an emergency which you can hotkey to F1 to F4. I tested it and you can be sprinting and drop it without any effect in speed. I've only tested it in the Skadosvk but it seems a reliable backpack and no-one else seemed interested in it. It also creates a unique map marker that cannot be toggled off so when it's been dropped you will know where it is at a glance.

They are the good points and what make it worth carrying because it weighs the same as a standard backpack and works in the same way. The downside is what it drops and keeps in your inventory. It keeps all equipped armour and guns in slots 2 and 3. Anything for slot 1 is dropped as is all ammo that are not compatible with slots 2 and 3. It will also drop all ammo types except for one type for each slot. I'm not sure what decides this but I had a UMP45 in slot 2 and .45 DU, .45 ACP and .45 ACP Hydra shocks in my inventory and it dropped everything except the .45 DU rounds. They were also the most in quantity so I'm not sure if it was because of amount of ammo or armour damage rating. It drops pelts and all clutter items but keeps all artifacts and artifact containers along with all explosives including grenadres, scatter mines and IEDs. It would be useful if you could programme it to suit your needs but it keeps far too many heavy items to be useful in the emergency scenaro its itended for. If you have 10 F1 grenades it will keep 10 F1 grenades and that doesn't make sense because the idea is to aid you in an escape and not stick around lobbing grenades.

There are very few situations where it will actually help you. A blowout as mentioned but then again you have Antibiotics if caught in one.

Other than that there are very few combat situations where it would be usefull unless you like to high tail it away from threats on a regular basis instead of killing them.

I agree and was thinking that while trying it out because I'm not a player who will run away and I've noticed cocaine and hercules combined allow you to run across the map and they weigh hardly anything. It almost seems like cheating to carry a stack of coke and hercs so I can still walk while carrying 100+kilos. I'm surprised there is no long term penalty for consuming the narcotics.

The stamina and or any drugs dont actually stack. Cocaine is stronger than hurcules so popping them both is a waste. Just like Cocaine is wasted if you have Adrenaline. Same applies to all consumables such as anti rads. It will prioritise the strongest medicine. So drinking multiple bottles of water or smoking several packs of cigs in a row doesnt actually help you and is wasted.

It also depends what class you picked. Assaulter and sniper are reletively immune to the side effects of drugs. Recon class gets the most benefit from drugs but also the worst side effects. Just smoking a joint or taking psy block as a recon will make your head spin for several minutes.
