Sure there is plenty to kill and lots of places to explore but nothing drives you to any of those areas other than exploration. Which means the only people who like exploring COC never even played the original maps or games....
Outside of that, it's essentially just...live in the Zone as a STALKER. That's about it.
Once it is complete I will probably edit some files to make the difficulty more in line with Misery (my favorite CoP mod by far no matter how many people bash it for being "too hard" and unbalanced, which it isn't). But as it stands it's awesome already.
I'd keep an eye on it if you want to hold off until it's finished though (current version is 1.5 - 2.4 beta, but soon 1.5 - 3.0 beta will release, development is pretty active on it) - there are a few issues that a buddy of mine has recently come across that seem pretty common among a lot of players, such as a couple mutant types having missing damage checks for an anomaly in Wild Territory, which can crash the game if they enter it. Most of the crashes listed seem to be able to be solved by waiting until the next respawn so the affected mutants are replaced before re-entering the map (in other words, if a map is crashing your game, come back to it later) so not gamebreaking but still likely annoying to put off going to those maps for a game day or whatever.
I also can't wait man.
Yeah because all standalone mods are "HARDCORE" grindfests.
