What fast travel addon are you trying to install? I just checked the ones I used and the main file goes in to the Plugins folder. The plugins folder is within the gamedata\configs folder and you can create the folder and drop the file in it if it doesn't exist.

How do you create a folder ? Can't you just unzip it to the main game folder ?

I have tried multiple times to no success

I don't trust mods to install correctly by unzipping to the the main folder so prefer to do it manually. Download this version and unpack it to your desktop using something like 7zip. Then manually copy the files over to the CoC gamedata folder. This addon has a lot of useful features.

Your CoC gamedata\configs folder might not contain a folder called plugins and a lot of addons have plugin files that go in that folder. If the folder doesn't exist you can create it by creating a new folder and calling it plugins (or copy over the plugins folder from the addon) Either method and the game will recognise the plugins folder.

Ok . manually put it in , then, I open up gamedata folder , then plugins .

I click the mod you told me about , then once again it shows another gamedata and so on till it says 20kb file under faction_quick_travel.ltx

Sound about right ?

I have run out of time for now to try it out .

Thank you so much for your time , greatly appreciated . HMZ

That's the ltx file but there are other files in the download you need to put in the appropriate folders.

copy fast_travel.script to the gamedata\scripts folder

You also have the 'eng' and rus' folders that contain files that need to be copied to:

gamedata\configs\text\eng

and

gamedata\configs\text\rus

These are all very small files so it only takes a minute and then the addon should be installed and ready to use.

If you have installed CoC to it's own folder separate from the CoP folder and have added the files to the gamedata folder within CoC I'm not sure why it's not working.

Open the fsgame.ltx and search the following line..

$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

change it to

$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

It is true-true .

But that file is offset from the rest , not sure if that means anything .

I really appreciate your help . You do have patience dude .

Did you load a saved game first because you need to be ingame for the options to appea in Options > Game. If it's still not working ingame what folders do you have in the main Stalker - Call Of Chernobyl folder and where is the gamedata folder located? It can be tricky to get mods and addons working but it's worth it because CoC isn't much fun without them and when the first one is working all the others are simple to add.

Hopefully someone who knows more about CoC can help as I'm out of ideas and it's not ideal as I don't have a working copy of CoC installed. In 2017 I was playing CoC and installing addons but have not since and can't remember what you need to do to get addons working. I know it's something to do with the database files and I hated them.

Something else to check is in fsgame.ltx and make sure

$game_config$

is set to true true. It might not make any difference but is worth a try.

If that doesn't work then see if you can edit a traders inventory to confirm the file changes you are making is being recognised by the game.
