So if you want to know the main story and do quests related to that, I would recommend playing the base games of the Stalker series. It'll also help prepare for the mod, though if you just played the mod first it isn't too hard to learn how to play with time.
Welcome to the Zone Stalker.
@Joe and others: playing the base games and more prominantly as close to vanilla as possible is definitely the best way to approach the series and do so in order of release too IMO. I definitely agree with the old hands here and anyone coming into the series should follow their advice for the best possible experience --these games are badazz even after all this time (awesome fact, but also sad that most other titles are slipping into sh!t). Game development & design courseware should mandatorily include the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series IMO --games are starting to suhk real bad any more.
Have it myself and will play it after I have completed both SHoC and CoP --looks interesting and quite challenging from the youTube vids I've witnessed regarding the mod.
