Is it an interesting journal at least? I'm currently just bopping around with Ao3 for the moment and even they have some "stashes" at times that make that reading material look wonderous by comparison.
"Oh hey, there IS a stash in the burnt farmstead after all. It's a free Vintar in Vanilla I wonder what I'll get-It's a zero durability left Pmm pistol... thaaaaanks"
In fact, they nerfed stashes even MORE in 2.2, as all weapon stashes give damaged ones now...Yey...
Anyway, the journal just says "Congratulations Stalker", nothing else...
That said, I'll take something that can body shot a pseudodog in less than half a magazine please.
Now, zombies and mercenaries? Yeah then the little baby pistol is surprisingly handy thanks to the wonders of "People often flinch when shot in the balls".
I often end up in this bizzaro situation where I'll be shooting dogs with a rifle to ensure they don't take a few bullets to the throat and then leap 20 feet anyways, and then pulling out my tiny handguns because I'm still too cheap to use the ones with the good ammo to kill Monolith.
Okay yeah. A 0% durability second weakest pistol in game (Ao3 added a new pistol with a slightly worse damage bar than a Pm, it seems!) is less dumb than that.
The UI for items, artifacts being nerfed even more...
Oh, and by the way, they STILL haven't fixed/re-added the Alun questline...
They could have added more cool stuff, but apparently 1% increasing scraps is better...
Its easy to make money, I've already beaten 2.2.
Its just that super rare stashes and cut-questline items shouldn't be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ worn weapons...
Even some common drugs and a bottle of vodka in a toilet declared "You found a stash!", as incredibly generic as that is, remains an intact and tangible "I found something that is useful, as is."
Findiing the most common, least valuable pistol on the planet in a fully broken zero percent durability. Or worse, a piece of paper with a bannana sticker on it. That's fairly pointless to grace with the term "stash" uless you're just trying to be cutesy.
For some personal clarity. The "LOL broken Pm Pistol" I'm talking about was outside of Misery. Just plain old Ao3, which I was bringing up for the sake of comparison and discussion.
Zeno IS talking about Misery, with their stash consisting of nothing but a useless on it's own note.
Seperate examples from seperate mods. Both equally "Well, that's hardly worth calling a 'stash' unless you just needed something to pad out your checkmarks".
Even if the stupid note was say, step number five in a 97 step process of procedually generated stashes eventually leading to the holy grail. Just a note with a shiny gold star sticket on it, is still a lazy joke of a "stash"
Now, a note and a free bottle of vodka? Now we're talking!
Alas, asking for a free bottle of vodka clearly OP and not worthy of bragging rights.
Yeah the pernach stash was there in 2.1.1 as well. There also seems to be another stash on the opposite crane that they removed for the recon. I haven't played as the other classes yet so maybe it's there, but if so, why remove it for recon!? If not, why remove it at all!? I don't remember it being anything amazing.
yeah playing Sniper and its gone too, maybe because they didnt want to have 2 stashes that close to each other,
what bothers me more is that some stashes disappear when looting them, like the one at the waste processing plant between the pillars,
I used it to dump off all the guns and come back later to grab them
I know I've often turned the soldier bodies by the iron forest chopper, or the remains of the guys who wanted to steal the boat wheel artifact, into impromptu stashes outside of Misery. Random NPC hanging out by the boat seemed less prone to ever want to loot those compared to rushing over to pat down the corpse of some random zombie or human recently killed.
I expect NPCs are more theft prone for any hunk of junk in misery so "Collection of weapons that were slightly below sell durability and also my old sunrise suit" dumped intp a horrible pile on the iron grating in front of the door to Beards wouldn't fly.
the generic NPCs will disappear, the 3 soldiers in Iron Forest should stay forever, about the guy at the dredge station wanting to steal the artifact idk
All three dudes by the boat have always stayed all game for me in Vanilla and Ao3 so far though at least, and that's much closer to Beard's boat (and not frequented by a poltergeist) than the bodies by the chopper.
But main plot corpses like the pilots are much more likley to stick around in mods I expect, unless Misery goes out of it's way to erase the helicopter pilots once you loot them.
Regardless. I sympathize with the desire for secondary storage, as much for sorting an obssessive hoarder pile. "No! I need at least one of every gun! Now where did I put my fancy .45 in this pile of rusty 9x18 and 9x19 handguns I never use anymore?"
