How to put ammo counter back
Alright so this was already addressed in the thread misery 2.2 patch note, but I'm not exactly clear on this. I want to put the ammo counter back on the hud and according to this.

Intentional. Count your shots or look in your PDA for how much ammo you have left. You can find the line in configs/ui/maingame and maingame_16 with notepad++ and remove the 5 at the begining of the 4 digit number in the x factor

It should be simple enough, except he doesn't say exactly what line needs to be changed, and I've been fiddling with this thing for over an hour line by line and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Please help, this is driving me nutty.

I don't want just the current mags count either, I want to see all the ammo counts for whatever weapon I'm holding.

Try ctrl+f and "5"

I did that and I removed all the 5's from things like "X=5000" None of the x= with 4 digits have a 5 in them anymore.

(Guns and ammo referenced from assaulter starting weapons)

Should have clarified perhapes, I wasn't just looking for current ammo count, when I pull a weapon out I want to see the amounts for all ammo types for that weapon that I have on me.

Getting rid of all the 5's in the Y parts as well appears to have solved the problem to an extent. When using the starting rifle for assaulter I can see a counter for all possible ammo types on the screen, which is what I want.

But the counter for the total of handgun ammo never changes if you swap to a different ammo type, it only ever keeps track of the standard rounds.

Have 30 fmj rounds and 20 jph. Not only can I not see that 20 jph in reserve as a secondary ammo, but if I reload to that ammo the counter still keeps track of the 30 fmj. First off a few jph and reload, counter still says 30 like it's keeping track of only the fmj.

This has been driving me crazy all night since I got home from work. It's a good reminder as to why I decided I never wanted to be a coder.
