Xray Engine 1.6 has stopped working.

Hello Stalkers,
i got some trouble with the Game while i playing. Sometimes after about 3-5min or less playtime the game crashes and the Xray Engine 1.6 error pop up.

The game runs on maximum graphics and i use win10 64bit.
I deleted the user.ltx but that just reset graphics and i dont like low graphics.
I tryed to run as admin and compatibility but it dont help to solve this s**t.
Cause i got win 10 i cant even delete the special windows update KB2*******.
So whats wrong with this crap of Steam / game?

(I know this is late, but...) I don't have it on steam, but, as I was having problems with other games, I tried allowing both Stalker-COP.exe and xEngine.exe through Windows Controlled Folder Access, under Windows Defender Security Center's Virus and threat protection settings, and it worked for me.

i have windows 8 it does the same to me when i use the MISERY MOD.

i am gonna use different mods and hope for the best.

in honesty the game crashes from time to time without mods. the game is old and i dont think it was ever designed to run on newer computers with more than one cpu.

Windows 8 and 10 are the OS's in which the stalker games start to act funny from everything I've read in the past. In win7 there's never been an xray crash that I haven't been able to solve one way or another. 8 and 10 are just plain bad OS's. I'll never switch to 10 until such a point where not doing so would become detrimental to my ability to enjoy the games I love.

Which means never.

You never looked at the system requierments when you bought it?

In all fairness, I have 3 Hard drives on my system, all of them 64bit OS. WINXPSP2, WIN7, and WIN10.

And the game works fine, considering I have 16gigs and a quad core CPU.

Just in WIN7, I have the admin rights set for it, and in WIN10 I set the compatibility and admin rights for that.

BUT mods, pending on what has been done also tends to add to the issue, and at times create problems. Mainly mods useing giant size graphics compared to what is used by defult. or mistakes in the code, It is what it is...

hello, i had the same problem i got crash ,then game wont to start while x ray engine app was running in background.

1. I went to stalker files found stalker game starting app
2. Right click on this app go to properties then compatibility
3. Select compatibility with win xp and always run as administrator.

For me works fine ;)
