my save got corrupted :((((

i wanna die now i just got to pripyat and was about to complete the "one shot" mission and was enjoying the game so much and now i cant be bothered doing it all again

What was happening at the time of the save, was it near zombies? If so there is a fix.

It was when you start the "one shot" mission in the tower and about to shoot. and also all the previous saves are dead too. No mods.

It's really odd that all your earlier saves are dead. That implies some important file got corrupted when the game crashed. It could be either from the game crashing, or a disk cluster went bad on your hard drive. My first step would be back up your saves in a different location and reinstall the game, then copy back the saves after you start the game once.

It might not help but lower your switch distance to something like 10 and try again.

the game has been reinstalled on another computer with the saves on the steam cloud.. that means the saved are corrupted who knows why

It's the main game variable in...Stalker Call of Pripyat\gamedata\configs\alife.ltx

Edit it with a text editor like Notepad (you can use Wordpad, but you need to be careful not to change the file type and formatting). My understanding is the switch distance is how far away a script for an enemy behavior turns on. Lowering it greatly reduces the load on the CPU.

I had a for lack of a better word, a corrupt save and I lowered it to 10 and the save reloaded. It was an issue with zombies I'm lead to believe.

As Terry stated it's in the config file, you will see a series of numbers eg, 100,200,350 etc, change the first value and save. See how that goes.

If all your saves are unusable you could fish out your save files and delete the entire Call of Pripyat game folder and just reinstall it and replace them in the save folder. As what failed or corrupted could be the a game file(s) itself and your saves might be fine.

Not that it will for sure work but it's a worth a try as it beats just gutting it all and giving up.

if its any help before it went corrupt my sniper scope when zooming in just showed a full purple screen and showed nothing else until i zoomed out, and couldnt see anything, so i verified my cache and repaired 1 file and then when re-launching it, it was dead, maybe that had something to do with it?
