Best *vanilla* overhaul mod?

I've found a couple of vanilla overhaul mods, such as Call of Pripyat Reloaded, but I'm not sure which is the latest and greatest. I'm NOT looking for something like Misery or CoC. I'm just looking for an overhaul mod to enhance gameplay & visuals for vanilla Call of Pripyat.

Any recommendations?

First I'm going to try the Special Edition mod, but I'm also downloading Sigerous, as well. I'm sure to like at least one of them.

The only one worth mentioning for a vanilla experience is 'complete' , there is a version for each Stalker game

Call of Chernobyl is not a vanilla mod.

'Complete' is indeed pretty old, which is why I decided to go with the much newer Call of Pripyat 'Special Edition' mod.

Complete has been updated twice, and it seems it has fixed the problems it had. But I can't say how it stacks up to the other mods. (They don't even seem to have announced the updates, but some promised features are there and its two versions ahead. Kinda weird)

Just because a mod was completed a long time ago does not mean it was abandoned and its sad you would think because something is old its not worth looking at, when youre playing an old game lol..... The only issue I ever remember it having was after STALKER was updated out of the blue years ago.

Just had a look at that mod. Seems it alters the game a bit but its good to see other people atleast trying to keep things near vanilla. I do like Misery buts its nice to go back 'home' every year ;-)

I did actually look at Complete, but it uses an outdated version of Atmosfear, and reviews on ModDB cite numerous unresolved bugs. Special Edition doesn't have those problems, and I prefer its list of features compared to Complete.

So you don't want vanilla then lol, I'm confused. I read those features and it changes some key things to the experience. I just checked comments on complete, seems some crash at Yanov other than that its just typical people failing to install correctly or 1 mod maker going around telling people to play his lol

anyway enjoy reloaded, I haven't seen any other vanilla based ones which follow the game as it was meant to be

I understand the CoC may not be exactly what your looking for, but as someone who has played all three STALKER games many times I honestly think CoC is the definitive STALKER experiance. I honeslty cannot recommend it enough and you should try it regardless, especially since you no longer need CoP to install it as it is standalone.

I dont know how about you, but I need CoP installed to be able to play CoC, because without it it doesnt work for me

I'm not using Reloaded. I stated several times that I'm using Special Edition, which is a Vanilla+ mod.
