X- Ray 1.6 Engine stopped working
Okay, I'll admit I splashed out and bought the stalker packwith all 3 games.
BUT I didn't expect to have to spend 3 hours fiddling with files, reinstalling, looking for FAQs and scouring forums to play Call of Pripyat. I have tried every trick noted on the internet.
Changed options in the user.ltx
run game cache checks,
disabled steam in-game overlay,
I am the administrator and even checked admin allowance
I've redone my video drivers
and direct X,
I've not even got past the initial launch of the game engine as soon as I click the play button / shortcut i set up, little mini tab comes up, boof error message "X-Ray1.6 Engine has stopped responding"

Specs--
GPU - Geforce GTX 960 2GB strix Factory OC'ed
CPU - AMD FX 6300 6core 3.50Ghz
RAM -16GB DDR3 "HyperX"
Win 10 64x

Did you try to run under Windows 7 environment?

What exactly did you change under the .ltx settings?

the biggest thing that happens is the Xray Engine crashes due to monitor resizing for some reason. Usually, the easiest fix is in the .ltx file to change your starting resolution to 1 lower than what you're playing at. So, if you're playing at 1080 you'd want to drop the starting resolution down to 1280x720. Usually, the Xray Engine will kick right in and you can then set the resolution to whatever you want.

Tried compatibility mode for windows 8,7 and even XP, Tried altering the user.lxy file res size to 800x600 (even though my monitor is 1920x1080).
Reinstalled as well. several cache verifies, deleted the .ltx file then verifiec cache, admin is always enabled,
I noticed a lot of people mentionign "Game_data" folder in their Stalker.CoP main directory I noted mines wasn't present... IDK if that file installs on game launch but I did note that was missing

Do you have this problem with any of the other STALKER games or is it just CoP? This is a weird problem you found yourself anyway. I didnt have a "gamedata" ordner either before I installed the "Sigerious Mod" so that shouldn't be the root of you problem. Perhaps try editing the "fsgame.ltx" with the editor. Open it and look for "$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\" and exchange it with this "$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\. If you dont have a gamedata folder that is. This is the only solution I can think of at the moment.
