[Misery] What's the point of night vision?
Flashlights are far more effective, all night vision does is create a green filter, that actually (in my opinion) makes things harder to see, it makes nothing brighter. Am I missing something?

The AI can see your flash light

But if i still can't see with the night vision then what's the point? It's just a pointless, expensive filter.

I've not played Misery but make sure when the night vision is on the flash light is off as the glare of the light can affect your vision. Some night vision is better than others as well and it can also take a while to get used to it and it helps to play in a dark room.

Doesn't nightvision emit a humming noise in Stalker?

Also good luck seeing anything thru a scope at night without night vision.

The Upgraded night vision is much better. If it's still too dark for you, you can mod the atmosFEAR .cfg for "brighter" nights

The only way to see with NV on, otherwise it's a filter.

I don't mind, I hate sniping.

First generation NV sucks; 2d generation is much better. On some fine weapons like the FT-200 and the GP37, a low powered scope is the only sight. I had a bug in my FT-200 with target ID and was unable to use it at night except with the HUD/cross hairs. No way I could see to fix this. NV doesn't "hum" as far as I've found. But if you don't like it NV, just don't use it. See how it affects your game.

The nv is also dependent on the weather I've noticed a lot of difference in it's usefulness based on moonlight or not, fog/mist and rain of course. Also while using nv scopes are lackluster at best due to the glare. Also if you are in a brightly lit area or your opponent is bright or shining a light your way that is no good as well.
