Zoom mod / Camera edit?

Anyone know if there is a mod to improve the zoom level in the races? Specifically I want to zoom IN more not out.

If there isnt a mod, anyone know where the camera file is so I can manually edit it?

Sadly I don't think there is. This game woudl be pretty sweet with some better graphics and the ability to really zoom in! Right now it does feel a bit like a "fancy port" from a phone game... which it kinda is.

Hopefully one day! But most likely it will be from the next game of this (if there is one).

If you zoomed in enough you'd be able to see that your car model rotates around a central axis and drifts with the wheels completely straight. I am pretty sure the little cars are static models. Zoomed out a bit it's easy to get away with that. This is a simulation game after all, not one of those F1 in-seat racing games.

Instead of zoom I would love an automatic chase camera that holds and adjusts to turns. I hate controlling the stupid camera manually all the time.

I know exactly how it looks zoomed in, its identical to Cities XL in its execution of the vehicle behaviour. I dont mind it at all, as I am well used to it with managerial games from the 80's and 90's. In fact its a lot like the old hotwheels games in that respect.

If you head over to Race Department you can download a mod called "Vanilla Balance" by an amazing modder called TheFlamingRed. The mod does a ton of stuff and I'd recommend giving it a go if you like a challenge. if not, you'll still need to download the whole thing, but all you'll need is the injector, which is redundant in his mod now.

However one thing it does is add a zoom to the camera so you can at least see the livery on the car. It's a little annoying in that you have to use it every time you load the game, but if you want to have the zoom that's how you have to do it right now.

Thats a nice nice camera mod, I just wish red could make it seperate from the other parts of his work. Im at the stage where I prefer the default content, and just would like a camera zoom improvement.

The current zoom level makes me feel disconnected from the racing

It was never a popular feature, so I never released it separately. You only need the injector file though if you don't want the rest of the mod.

All the injector file does (if using the zero days version (or -1 day if you are an ex engineer) ) is the zoom. I don't believe it changes anything else in the game. Press F10 to get rid of the 'this is working properly" text.

The injector was fiddly, sometimes not activating reliability. And if activated twice in the same session, would cause a crash. I am glad the mod no longer requires the file - but it was imperative for the early edition of the mod.

Zoom level is odd though... it's baked into the save file it seems upon game start (as it's not saved when the injector overwrites it). I also can't seem to edit that stat in the .dll and have it simulate the effect in the game - implying that the stat originates some somewhere else. It's an odd one - which I only ever got working with that injector.

I actually just figured it out, I've put the file needed over on Race department - it's a zoom modifier and increases the fast forward speeds as well

Mmm, and with the new car models, I'd really love to get in closer. The Octane cars look *awesome* now.

If I could trouble you to ask for a version with just the camera edits, I would be a fan for life. I race at 2x as it feels good to me. The speed rate changes are a little off for me personally.

Didn't find the file. Could somebody point me to the right direction? Seems to have just the perfect amount of zoom. Any reason why devs haven't yet done this? I would also like to have only the camera mode.

Second this. Or a version with just the 3. speed multiplier option increased to jump speeds would be great (1.5/3/10 or something like that).
