Export save game to csv
Simple question.
Is there any editor in which I can export data from a saved game to a .csv-file?

I am currently using Fire Fantasy 20, alongside the lastes patch. MM Save Editor lets me open and edit save games, but I don't want to edit any data. I want to export those so I can sort the columns...

Let's say that I am looking for a particular driver or race mechanic who has a special trait or stat that I need in my team. I would really appreciate an easier way to find those other than to scout drivers within the game. There is neither any way to scout race mechanics nor lead designers. And also, I cannot scout drivers who's already scouted or search for them in the game...

Any clues?

You aren't going o like the answer. The short version is "no, not to a .csv". The longer version is "But you can to a json file".

The JSON extractor is here: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/save-extractor.14573/

The truth is that if you don't know JSON, you're stuffed.

If you DO know JSON, your head may explode.

JSON is normally used to store data in organised hierarchies. The MSM JSON, however, is like someone took all the data that they wanted to save, dumped it into a bucket, and threw it at the file. Obviously it works, or the game wouldn't be able to load its save files, but the "organisation" of the data, and I use the term loosely, is one of the most bizarre structures I've ever seen. Rather than having clearly defined object structures, they just whack stuff on at the end. I'm not the first to make this observation; admittedly it could be that the extractor itself is incorrectly generating the JSON files, but I don't think that's it.

You CAN find data in there if you put enough time into exploring where it is, but it is neither easy nor fun.

That being the case, this other option may be better for you; the MSM file editor: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/motorsport-manager-save-game-editor.16342/

This does all the hard work of interpreting the data file for you and shows you pretty much all of the stats that you're looking for.

One thing, though...

> "There is neither any way to scout race mechanics nor lead designers. "

I don't use mods so I can't speak to what they might change, but you don't NEED to scout those in the standard game. All the information about them is already revealed. You do, however, need to go through them one by tedious one to find the ones that have any special skills that you're after. Also:

> And also, I cannot scout drivers who's already scouted or search for them in the game

Certainly in the Vanilla game you need to scout drivers only once; after that their stats are updated as they change. You can find them on the driver list... until they retire.

Very much thank you for your answer.
Even though I'm pretty known of JSON, isn't that an option for me, because it would take alot of time to work through. So I guess that I either have to scroll the MSM Save Editor or go through all drivers/race mechanics within the game. Which also takes alot of time.

I am currently using MSM Save Editor 1.4.6543.

Yes, I know. It's the same when using the "Fire Fantasy 20"-mod, but it would really be helpful if the developer of the game implement some kind of search engine, where you can filter stats or traits. I still want the scouting to be a part of the game, along with the scouting facility. :)
