And the fact you actually have to build and fund next seasons car
Also a nice bit of F1-history, as Diniz pretty much was the moment in time when pay-drivers became something entirely different. In the late 80ies it was pretty much guys who paid 6digits of their own personal money for a shot at (pre-)qualifying the car and, if he was lucky, start from the very back of the grid in a car that lasted for a couple of laps. Then the field shrank, and for a short period in time there was hardly any paying driver. In came Diniz, the first of the new style, with multi-million-dollar backing by a national oil company who wanted someone of their own driving in F1 (and the sponsor, rather than the teams themselves, searched for talent, with the limitation that it had to be someone from their own country/region/sometimes even political alignment). 20 years later, and even Alonso gets his money from Santander rather than McLaren.
Downside was also that it lasted only 10 seasons. I'm happy that MM has unlimited seasons! I also got an idea that GPW was pretty hard to mod, because user made stuff wasn't that good as far as I remember. I hope MM will be more open.
Looking at this game it's amazing how long it took to get a new proper racing management simulation into developement.
There have been some really promising ones in development over the last few years but they either turned out a train wreck or were abandoned. Will be nice to finally see one completed
Also, isn't it possible to mod current points system to this game?
