Game Crashes when connecting to the internet
I can play the game fine when im offline but as soon as the game tries to connect to the internet (like steam workshop items in a new career) or if im online when i launch the game it crashes after being frozen for a couple of seconds. already re-installed steam and the game. It also only happens to MM and no other game

SOLUTION:
https://docs.google.com/document/u/2/d/e/2PACX-1vQgg6UPzW3_QZKd7WtDHxwV5le9GHD6j7O-r4qiGaS28yo56wdETeUQGUquf841rXO5-4WPOoxD9mgS/pub

alternative: google search troubleshooting Pavlov Launch Error (Intel 11th Gen CPU).
the solution here fixed it for MM and other games aswell.

I have had this crash a handful of times. I have been lucky... every time it has happened, it started the next time.

I did find one thing that has a demonstrable effect on this problem. I realize that every system is different and what works for me may not work for everyone else. It may be worth a try though.

I am playing in windowed mode so I can hop over and make notes in a spreadsheet. Mostly I do this to record setups and do my pit stop planning and race management.

I noticed that if I click away from the game (into another application) while it is still loading, it WILL crash. I also noticed that if I don't click away from the game while it is still loading, it WILL NOT crash.

Are you accessing some other program while waiting for the game to load?

Again, I know that YMMV applies. However, even if you are not playing in windowed mode or are not hopping to another app, is it possible that you have some utility application that is taking focus? I know that may be a longshot, but that is all I can think of.

Ive tried both tabbed in and out while its loading, both times it crashes.

I did have it in fullscreen mode. Changed it to windowed and it still crashes.
