How to contract a Driver for next Season?
Hey Ppl,

i want to contract a new driver. My second drivers contract will end at the end of this season, and my replacement candidates contract ends aswell. Fortunately he wants to talk bussiness with me when approaching him. Unfortunately there is no option to offer a contract starting from next season, so as it seems i just can hire him right away...what i dont want to do :(

Is there a way to make an offer for next season only? If not, this rly needs to be implemented asap, since this is normal bussiness behave id say :)

Greets!

go to drivers then offer new contract, they might not want to sign for you so you need to find new guys.

i have the slight feeling that you did not read my post properly...

I want to hire a driver from another team, but not right now but for next season, when his contract ended

it would, but for the cost of 15 mio euro

and since both (my old driver and the designated new one) have ending contracts its nonsense that i cant offer his one after the ending of the current ones. Guess the devs simply forgot about this, so i hope they read it and patch it soon :)

This is definitely a feature they should add

I was wondering about this myself. There seems to be no way currently to "make arrangements" for the future.

Completely agree! "Silly season" is completely missing and it's strange due to how accurately most other facets of the sport have been represented so well.

It should be easy enough to encourage players to do early negotiations and then commit them to the beginning of the new season. Replacing a driver during the season just doesn't happen barring a horrific situation.

Let alone anyone actually breaking a contract... that's career suicide in racing...

Of course you could always try and time it yourself but you're sol if you fail to secure the pilots in time for the next season.

Why just why does a new word jump into my mind to describe that negotiating-and-committing process? Word is "Kaltenborning" :)

I completely agree...same issue. We should be able to negotiate future contracts. I don't think the cost of breaking the contract should remain the same if the driver is approaching the end of their contract.

Totaly agree, definitely needs fixing else it's highly unrealistic and annoying. Drivers don't simply swap half way through the season, or wait to sign until the year end.

Yes i agree , this would be nice to have

Another agree here.

I was reloading lot of time the "end season" day 14 december ... On the 13 december at midnight all pilots are "under contracts" ... at 0:01 the 14 december, most pilot have already sign again for 1 year or just change .... no way, no time for me to contact them.

Try offering the contract a few days prior to the free agent season starting, see if you can try an get an acceptance (looks like a day or so before DEC 14) I think if they agree they won't sign with anyone else for a couple of days
