RED ZONE?
What is it?
i ve thought it was related to reliability but it is not, i mean, if i choose "- red zone" the reliability does not improve, they seem to be two different things so i was wondering what this red zone is

Red zone is your "over-run". Basiclaly if your running an engine on max, its in the "red zone".

If a part is in the red zone while racing the cars performance decrease, once at 0% the part barely works and it's like running out of fuel. Ignore the "- red zone" components, as long as your reliability is 90% - 100% you should be ok.

THAT explains a lot bout my performance, Hexlord,
Thanks a lot!

You will processivly lose performance, the lower the realiability (from my knowledge, it might start with the red zone, but i don't know, there might be slight powerloss before you hit it)

Point of the red zone is, that your engine starts having severe issues and will reduce it's realibility at an unpredicatable speed. It's still possible to finish the race with a part that's in the red zone but as soon as they hit zero, they're dead and your driver will retire from the race. Before the redzone it's just, the harder you push the quicker your parts will wear down in the race.

As soon as something gets into red, the perfomance of that part gets a penalty AND the damage to that Part increases.

For components, you have a % Chance that isnt shown to get damage to a component, running higher fuel mixhture increases chance of engine damage every lap and running more aggressive driving style.. you got it i guess.

Running into RED zone for a component increases Chance to get damage and increases the Damage it gets.

Quite same for Tires. running into 25% for the Tires you get slower, tire wear increases and chance of locking up tires increases.

This is correct. Additionally, while a part is in the red zone it has a chance for catastrophic failure which will reduce the part to 0% instantly. A 0% part other than the front and rear wings retires your car immediately - obviously this type of failure has a greater chance of happening while pushing your car, but I've had it happen on medium/low before as well.

Tires do not have a catastrophic failure chance other than really bad lock ups while in the red.

Your car does not retire on 0% for any part, unless we are playing different games. Only the AI retires.

During a 'predator slow build' both of my cars hit 0% on parts dozens of times, as I would just alt tab and watch a movie while the race finished. Didn't retire once in 5 season of this. When a part hits 0% your car just goes very slow, like you have ran out of fuel or have no tread on your tires.

i play with predator (Season 3) and i ve already had a few (3-4) mechanical failures that led my drivers to retire from the race.

Is there a option to turn off retirement? That's the only thing I can think of other than trainer/hacks or forum trolling for not getting retired @ 0% parts. Retirement happens when engine, gearbox, suspension, or brakes reach 0%. Catastrophic failure in red zone can/will take your engine (for example) from 20% to 0% instantly and retire you from the race.

Tyres, fuel, rear wing, front wing can reach zero and you'll take a major speed penalty but they will not retire you from a race.

Strange. I can't recall any setting that changes it, but I do know that my drivers don't retire from mechanical failures. Setting up a race now and will take a few screenshots.
