If your tier has spec parts then it makes it easier to repair parts. Otherwise, learn which parts take the longest to repair in pit stops and work on reliability of those first. Brakes and wings take the shortest amount of time to repair during the race.
You may want to consider what race strategy you use at the start of the season. I run an ultra conservative setup to go longer before repairing parts.
Come on, think a little bit.
What parts take longest to fix during a race? Engine and Gearbox. So improve reliability on those first as soon as the new car is there.
Upgrade your Factory to have more reliability slots.
With Factory Level 3 I now regularly win season openers because I only have to fix a Brake or a Suspension during a pitstop, losing only 6 seconds in the process. And I drive the engines on the light blue mode (it does help to have a Mechanic with Nursing and/or Engine Expert quality).
+1
I think the balance is quite good. Don't use high engine modes at all in first two races. Though I agree that there should be failures even after you reach high reliability, just like in real life.
Imo it would be better if only few parts would have very low reliability (even lower than 40%) at the start of a new season, not all of them.
Makes no sense.. you see Mercedes having the best car..win the championship.
Next year they have to start from scratch pit 3 times to fix reliability.. its stupid and well... stupid.
I changed development time myself, half way in the season i have all parts build and performace work done.. what would like to see is you can build some parts for next season.
Maybe have a section for *next years parts*.. first few races are just annoying.
I had a glitch that let me work on parts in the offseason one year. It made the next year extremely boring.
And you can sacrifice a little performance for reliability. Have your entire staff work on reliability instead of performance boosts at the start of the year.
All this reliability thing is nice to gameplay, but it's not realistic at all. It's difficult to imagine front or rear wing getting damaged by itself. But it makes sense for the other parts. Maybe both wings should be free of realibilty problems, then the game would be more realistic for me.
