Create your own team?

i tried out the create your own team part yesterday at the beginning it looked great choose your team name design the car livery etc. then i began too be a bit disapointed because when i create my own team i expect that i can choose my own staff and drivers not just taking over a pre defined squad and i really hope that we in the future can get rid of the silly chairman in the create team part of the game

But it is your team, however you didn't foot the bill so of course there's going to be someone (rep of your team's investors) looking over your shoulder making sure you don't throw away money that isn't yours. The staff, excluding the 2 drivers who you can replace after a year, are on rolling contracts that you can immediately terminate and replace.

I Understand where your coming from and would of liked to see more of an Ownership feature with create your own team. It seems like we got more of a be a GM mode then an owner mode.
It also would of been cool to be able to buy and sell teams or own multiple teams......the ability to buy and sell shares in other teams and do a hostile takeover or be able to become a chariman yourself and the list goes on and on lol

You also can replace the drivers immeadiatly, but you should scout some with hugh markability first

Well the game is kind of coded to play a certain way. You are the gm who directs the team in various ways and it even goes beyond that and let's you micro during the actual sessions. I can't say for sure what an irl team owner does but I'd imagine it's mostly board room meetings and making sure investors and sponsors are happy. That kind of diverges from what the game is, managing a racing team. So it makes sense why the game takes this gm/owner approach with create your own team where the board of investors send a rep to keep you on the straight an narrow as your chairman.

I would love to be able to create a development team like Torro Rosso is to Red Bull which you would have to foot the bill using your finanaces

Firstly while not changeable via a Workshop mod, you can customise the drivers that you get at the start of the Create a Team. To do this you have to get Unity Assests Extractor, theres a link around somewhere on the games discussion to do with Modding i think. I'll try and find it and do up a guide for those that want to change stuff for Create a Team such as Driver parts, Driver Stats etc. Not fully sure on changing the inital scouts and mechanics yet however you can change some that you first start out with via the Workshop modding section which there is guides for already.
