Race vs Tire Performance Bonus (question)
When you are prepping for the race, which is more important... Tire performance +15% or Race performance +15%? I would like to only use one of those and use one of the special mechanic bonuses instead. Is the 1/2 off tire time and -1 sec off pit two good bonuses worth not using tire/race bonuses?

Tire performance bonus hinges on you actually using said compound. Race bonus works the entire race. I’m not sure about the absolute value of these bonuses. It might be that using 15% SS bonus for half the race because you had to use inters for the other half is faster than the 15% race bonus the entire race. But since I actually don’t know, I figure it’s safer to use the one you know will be useful for 100% of the race.

15% race is a must, the second slot, I use mechanics. Off the top of my head “super overtake” and “sweeter spots” are good for *ok* for qually. “Nurse” and in certain situations Ive been using “lightfooted-soft”. Ive never tried the pit bonuses. But I can see their uses. You’ll have to change your strategy to suit but if you have bad feedback drivers it allows you to concentrate on one compound you expect to use during race or qually and move to mechanic traits instead. 15% off 10 laps of say 1 min per lap technically should save 1:30, but theres no way its that much in game.

Yeah I see what you mean. I have not been using the -1 second off pit time or the %50 off tyre time bonuses. I tried it once and when I went to change only tyres in a race it had a negative timer which I guess is good. The pit is still slow because of your traveling speeds so I can't see it helping unless you are playing a season with high pit speed limits and the pit time reduction might help give an edge.

I wonder if AI also uses mechanics bonuses? Only mechanic bonuses I've been using are less wear on certain tyre and less fuel consumption (pit stop bonus also couple times). Other perks like nurse and the removal of red zone seems too fantasy and cheating.

I assume using both race bonus and tyre bonus will give both bonuses, at least I have made my picks based on that.

Yeah, I was thinking 15% tyre and 15% race trim boosts would equal a 30% boost but I'm not sure what the race trim bonus refers too.... maybe your setup %? like if you did 3 purple excellent settings for a 98% and then would the race trim bonus add to that to go over 100%?
