Burnt Out Pit Crew

When a pit crew member is shown as Burnt Out, will he/she still recover over time or should they be fired?

Of course they can. Burnt out just means they get a insta-big rise in mistake % (and stamina? cant remember). It should be ok.

look at how many races left in his contract.

I think you can fire them without penalty, so if he is burntout with 3 races left, maybe it is not useful to keep paying for it.

Just put exhausted crew members to recovery. They won't recover if they are active members of your crew.

You don't have to pay extra to resign but hiring a new pitcrew member costs you 200.000 (in vanilla) so I don't see any reason to just let low stamina members run out of contract, bad advice.

It's not about exhausted members. I know they recover. But sometimes a crew member is shown as Burnt Out, it can even happen whilst they're recovering, so their stats might not be all that low. So Burnt Out is plainly not the same as Exhausted, which made me wonder whether it's a more serious problem that they might not recover from.
Burnt Out generally means you can't cope with your job/circumstances any longer, hence no longer a viable team member.

Last night I also had a 'Burnt Out' pit crew at the end of a season. So I will keep an eye on him to see if he recovers.

Like 'Tinmash' said, burnt out usually means they can't do their job anymore so it could be that these guys won't recover and the only option will be to fire them.

Once they are burned out their stats will fall off a cliff, sack em and replace :)

Although I haven't seen this happen yet, I guessed this would be the case.

I got 6 members of my Pit Crew currently at the 'Burnt Out' status and I see one of their stats has absolutely bottomed 3 or Less. They stick out like sore thumbs because I keep all my Pit Crew with 17 points across the board minimum. Is this burnt out status a phase much like the temporary driver traits or is this a permanent stat drop? If its permanent then its going to suck keep having to fire and hire pit crew members. Some of these guys I only signed a couple of races ago. Does hiring and firing pit crew members effect your Loyalty rating as a Manager?

I’ve had a Burnt Out guy for 7 races. He didn’t improve and I wasn’t able to renew his contract.

Guess it’s permanent =/

It's not like you said "burnt out is different than low stamina and it's a permanent thing"... I haven't seen any burnt outs yet so how would have I known...

Wow if it's permanent then that sucks. Is it possibly a bug in the game? I could understand the 'Burnt Out' element being a trait that applies to Pit Crew Members that means they require longer time in the Rest/Recovery Area then the guys who are just regular tired. But having it as a permanent element means you're losing money constantly having to fire/break their contracts and hire new crew members.

I'm pretty sure it's a bug. I suppose they should recover, just slower. No official confirmation to this yet. In principle this burnt out thing is a good idea, but only if it isn't permanent thing and doesn't follow just after few races.
