Promotions and stats / expectations
After spending about 5 seasons in the European Racing series, then about the same in Asian Pacific supercup, I finally moved up to the World Championship, but in doing so I noticed an oddity with the car.

I had a fair amount of capital, so built the most expensive chassis on offer first time round, however, one part is "off the charts" where the others are all normal, see front wing:

That screenshot is from about 50% through my second season in the WMC, this time I didnt build the best chassis, almost though.

If I remember correctly, the charts seemed quite balanced in the previous season (will have to check)

Is that normal? It seems to me that I am so far behind other teams, I will never catch up, or perhaps just a bug.. or Is this caused by staying in lower series too long?

Aside from that, I also have 3 car alerts.. constantly, even when nothing is there.

Also, expectations could do with being revised when being promoted, rather than being based on the new tier, it seems to base on the previous season results... i.e first time in WMC and expected to come 1,2,3.. yeah ok! Sponsors seem to think the same too, leading to financial trouble and low job security.. but I can battle through.

Yeah I have the exact same issue with the same component -- I just assumed that the ceiling for the Front Wing stat is 1,892 and that once you reach it you can't go higher. It's basically a spec part at this point and hopefully none of the other teams can go higher either otherwise I WOULD call it a bug.

I just thought, I might try and get a job at some of the other teams, so I can see their car stats and compare :)

Edit: Ok, seems its not just my team, which is good news:

The Performance cap is 3000 as far as i have come across my game and other forums, so it definetly isn't the part reaching perf capacity. If it was only in your team's case, it could have been explained with "spec part" rules. But i don't understand how other teams have the same level as well. Can you remember the performance index of your front wing before you were promoted? and also the rules in WMC the season before you were promoted?

^ What he said.

Spec part performance cap removal can causes this. My cars in the ERS have just got front wing development and the chart shows all my other parts near the edges with the wing a tiny wee peak in the middle. Basically the inverse of your pic.

Your WMC probably had spec parts for everything except the front wing at some point. And since you were not actually in the series at the time, the performance numbers are hinky on the display.

I still have the save before promotion, I think. Will check.

Ok, so end of season in APS:

Engine & Front Wing where spec parts:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=843998722
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=843998759

Using this save and moving up to the WMC, with best bits for chassis and all email extras:
(ignore driver change, contract expired)

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=843998784
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=843998819

So for comparison (roughly)

Brakes 1018 to [S]600
Engine: [S]300 to 1826
Front Wing [S]300 to 1800
Gearbox 1118 to [S]600
Rear Wing 1080 to 1621
Suspension 1100 to 1497

So yeah, does appear to relate to spec limits etc, just looks v. odd.
