I agree. That's another reason why I once stated my belief for more racing leagues in MM, and especially on the national level: More places to race in lower racing leagues, and the possibility of having new tracks for WMC races. (Perhaps even make it to where there's two tracks in Germany that alternate hosting WMC races every year.)
Personally I think it might be a while before we see any new tracks make an appearance. But I am sure the team are planning for it, if they dont already have some on the board for development.
Quite right, Cape Town is our Monaco. Although I would dispute that Yokohama is a carbon copy of Suzuka.
I would expect they planned new tracks from early on, but as lexandro says, they are probably hard to make and time consuming.
But I was on about one that looked much like Monaco in its surroundings (Track based within a city)
I know making tracks would be a time consuming effort, but it would still be nice to hav some more tracks
As said here, it would be cool to have multiple tracks in the same country that could be either swapped via voting, or alternate as hosts
Well I didn't mean a literal carbon copy, that was an exaggeration to make a point. But even without licensing Yokohama is a pretty accurate caricature with all the main features: first turn into s curves, figure 8 overpass, hairpin (though a bit exaggerated), spoon curve, last chicane is smoothed out for a simple return to the starting line. It's almost like a little cartoon version of Suzuka. Yokohama and Milan are probably the maps that are the most similar to their irl counterparts. *At least to my casual eyes.*
@Robert
There are city tracks (Singapore), but as I said MM doesn't have f1 license and is limited in how much they can copy the real deal. While you won't find 1:1 conversions, you'll see a lot of the main features layed out in the right landscape like Doha has prominent Yas Marina features, Milan pretty similar to Monza, I already explained Yokohama, etc. But other times even though the layout might be vaguely similar, the environment/landscape will differ like Cape Town does with Monaco.
The trouble is tracks are easily the hardest bit - even the top down view (the simplest to do a track for) is quite complicated...
