GT Series Car Set Ups
Can anyone point me in the right direction with how this ballast in the setup works can get handling and speed set up perfectly pretty quickly but this ballast is really confusing me. I assume it's not as as simple as front or rear but how do you know where with a track to start?

In practice just set it to 1 side within the green, then next run to another side of the green and if a third run go somewhere in between. See where it says Poor, Very Poor, OK etc. One of the settings will be closer to Optimal. So move the sliders towards this point.

That gives you some data.
Then you can finetune the sliders in Qualifying.

By Q3, if I make it, I always have near-purple sets.

To start with, you'll never be putting ballast to the rear of the car. Never. Leaving it in the middle for tracks like the Phoenix oval are fine, and then everything else it'll be towards the front of the car. Same thing wing angles in single seaters. They'll never be lower than the middle setting.

When in doubt, put the ballast all the way to the front and then adjust your way down.
