The season is broken down into sections, All the stuff before or between a race, which involves, offering contracts, building parts, upgrading HQ, is all done by players the console / pc handles this individually.
After all the pre-race stuff is done, the player would confirm they are ready for the actual race. Once all players are ready the host or players (if its run via server) can launch the race. The race is done real time all players controlling as they would in any F1, or sports game.
Once that is completed all the data is uploaded and synced, and the cycle repeats... players build, upgrade, tinker in pre-race, ready up for race 2, once everyone is ready race gets launched.
The offseason stuff can be broken down into weeks. Again, players offer contracts, tinker with the team, once they have used up or simmed all the days of that week, once all the players are done, the data is synced and and the second week of preseason gets launched.
Thats how i would format Motorsport Online.
(this system may force all players and teams to be locked in a single race series, the format would need to change if players find themselves in different series)
But I think that's not that easy one to implemen a multiplay mode
in a game thats designed for singel player...
I'm not against MP for any of these games, but it's also a feature I doubt I would personally ever use.
It removes a fun part of the game, but the managing part is still there.
Yes this is exactly how i would want it. Be able to schedule races 1 week apart or less and play it like fantasy football. Would even love it if you could have open tournaments that follow real race seasons. If F1 was in Abu Dhabi, MM's race would be there for the weekend
Well you also could impmement it so that the race starts at a certain time and 10 mins before you can connect to the game. If you dont connect, the game could use an ai Logic. Maybe you can set your strategy first.
