How many seasons on European Racing Series before Asia-Pacific Super Cup ?
Hello,
could yo tell me how many seasons you race in European Racing Series before going to Asia-Pacific Super Cup ?
Should I build every building in siege before racing in another category ?

just move up, a midfield running tieam in APSC earns more prize money than ERS champions, even a backmarker team.

How do you move up?
Tyso3 Feb 19, 2017 @ 6:12pm
ACtually i would disagree with PKut. The APSC is singificantly harder then the European circuit for multiple reasons.

1. Less Spec parts which means youll have to spend more money per year upgrading parts to stay ahead
2. Drivers are far superior, Your going to be going up against much tougher opponents
3. Sponsors, the money making sponsors you had winning the European will no longer work as you will not be getting wins probably at all the first season in APSC
4. Car development is about around 35 mil for the top range cars, in comparison to about 11 mil for ERS
5. More tracks per season, which means less time between races to upgrade/repair your parts

In ERS your objective should be the following imo as a minimum before you jump up.

1. Factory/Design level should be rank 2
2. Scout should be rank 1 at least
3. Weather forcasting rank 1
4. At least 1 or 2 development centers, dont build too many yet as you wont afford it
5. A Pay driver for your second driver/reserve
6. A Designer that allows you to build better parts without having the factory (e.g. rank 2 ability is a random rank 3 part)

Once you have all those, which is usually after 2/3 wins of ERS, jump up. Then youll have a good chance of blitzing out of the APSC as soon as possible. ERS and WRS are both big money makers, the APSC is a black hole of finance.

Imo it's more fun to move up and struggle than it is to afk win ERS. Plus, the sooner you move up the sooner you can start closing the development gap.

It's not really about money. If you're getting five star sponsors like you should (this is the most important source of income), the next step is to close the development gap, which you can't do from the series below.
Rabble Feb 19, 2017 @ 9:48pm
What is the development gap?
Tyso3 Feb 19, 2017 @ 11:15pm
At the end of each year, when you develop your new car, it takes the best parts from the previous years cars parts and used them as the new standard.

So if your Engine was 361 epic, next year your standard engine will be 361 etc. When your in seasons with spec parts, these parts do not develop.

This is also is why Predator is a tough start, as most of your parts are brand new (aka stength of 2 for engine)

Can you lag behind in tech making being successful harder in the long term?
Lilebilb Feb 20, 2017 @ 12:37am
Absolutely.
Imho it is best to get to WMC as hast as possible.
Whenever you get promoted all your car will be ranked #8 Overall. The longer it takes you the harder it might be to catch up with the leading Teams in tier1 (unless you really manage to hit the perfect Timing to reach WMC - when Ernie decides to Balance all parts again.

1.) Get finances up, marketability >> all.
2.) Get promoted as soon as possible.
Rabble Feb 20, 2017 @ 12:53am
Can it become impossible to proceed if you're too slow?
Lilebilb Feb 20, 2017 @ 1:13am
As you come up #8 when you advance a Tier it is kinda hard to ever get DEMOTED. So in General hitting a dead end is not possible unless your REALLY overspend with your Drivers and cannot fire them because you cannot afford to pay the Transfer fee (then you should simply try to get their morale to the bottom with promoting reserve Driver, getting Standard Driver back and let the pit in races for 12 times....when their morale gets too low they want to leave and maybe can find a Team that wants them and you EARN the Transfer fee. Dammit, that sounds like a tactic for predator: Hiring the best Drivers available, totally overpaying them, destroy their morale and life off Transfer fees when they leave.....must test this....)

Thanks for your help !

@heinz.jannach

What a brilliant idea! At it:steamhappy:

Otherwise I agree with PKut.

Advancing to APS makes it possible for you vote and determine the rules. Tyso3 neglects how big that is when he writes that APS is more difficult because there are more SPEC parts.

In fact APS is easier just because of this. The AI is too weak. They never develop a car completely. This makes it easier for you to become competitive.

In general it is always good to have spec parts in the feeder series since the tech status you get will be quite good even if you progress really fast.

Prize money always makes up for the car development cost thus advancing gives you a greater edge to build your HQ. After all WMC is your goal. You can only reach it by getting the titles s o m e how.

Finally, you can sign better drivers the higher you are in category. From APS onwards you will find quite decent drivers and staff willing to work for you.

The category you race in has an effect on wages your employees are asking from you. When you know you are going to advance make long term contracts with the staff you want to keep. Try and keep the title winning driver for at least the next year. Otherwise don't let them win the title. Use another driver :p
