Start of the race
What defines how well a driver starts the race? My both 2 drivers are one of the best of the leaugue but their starts are always, without exception terrible. I am in ERS so I will always start from the back as we are nr 1 and 4 in the competition. I have both settings on red, as other drivers have also.

Obviously nothing, especially since drivers often have starts far worse than Mark Webber starting a Grand Prix in his worst nightmare.

Does the car has any influence on it? Anyway, it seems way more logic to have a stat callled start than a stat called turns...

I noticed this and there are a few things that i think affect it.

Overtaking, concentration and ..... (this is where people may differ) driver aggression (engine red).

At the start of a grid I always push my tires to red and my engine to orange.

When both are red I find my drivers practically drive into the back of other cars and then slam on the brakes and lose a place or two ... or three.

When Orange engine setting I find that they tend to avoid this.

Once the start is underway and all the cars are moving I will then flip it over to red/red.

Try and and see.

There is probably something going on in the background like concentration that may affect their physical reaction to the green light...

I also avoid "overtake" engine setting at the starts because I doesn't seem to work. It's been few weeks since I last played this game but back then I usually got pretty good starts, not always though but most of the time. Overtake setting is only good for 1-1 situations imo, it's not even good for defending.

I've been waiting for a big update so I will be playing again soon.

I used overtake and agressive for lap1 most of the time - only exception for last Corners that are known to be wing-breakers or flat-spot-creators..... :)
