Missing Chairmans Target
Will missing the chairmans target automatically result in me being fired?

Long story short is that I inadvertantly won the ERS (my drivers finished a season high 1st and 4th, on double points with all spec parts) as my team jumped from 9th in the constructors to the top.

With a car factory under construction, next season, money should realistically be no object. However I would be quite pissed if I got kicked just before reaping the benefits!

The game is unforgivable. If you don't reach the seasons target position you'll get one chance at the end of the season to still continue to the next season (by finishing 1 driver at a certain high position). If you fail that then you're done and fried/fired :P

I got fired from my own custom team and am now competing against them as a manager of a rival team :>

Yeah I'm actually really worried that I hosed my game. Took me 4-5 seasons to reach the top of the ERS and I jumped right up to the APS. The chairman thought I could come in 6th place and I stupidly went with that instead of the lower 8th place.

I did terrible in practice and quali and I only did ok during the first race because I kept my parts in good shape. I'm really hurting for money (I was making millions per race in the ERS and now I'm making 100k before bonuses).

When I moved to APS i chose too high of a goal, the chairman kept sending me mails threatning to fire me, but when i only missed the goal by 1 position she didnt fire me...I thought i was gonna be done. Chose the lowest goal when you get promoted because you will have the worst car.

This is still ridiculous. Basically if you were lucky on the last race and scored too many points, you'll have to face insane demands from the chairman in the next season. And if you miss the target by even a nicle, the chairman's happines starts dropping like a stone thrown out a window. Seriously, 5-9 percent if you miss the target by one spot? PER RACE?! That means that you're fired by the half time of the season.
It is ridiculous how broken this is. And there would be a simple solution: REDUCE THE CHAIRMAN HAPPINES PENALTY! It takes ten seconds to locate the file, change the number and click on "save". Two minutes if you include it into the build of the next patch. It's not that hard..

Well this is your opinion and it's a balance thing, not a bug so there is nothing to "fix" here. I haven't found it too hard to meet chairman goals in the long run. Not sure if chairmen acknowledge current overall standings enough though or do they just follow goals race by race. Though generally these two go hand in hand more or less (might be situations where you only have few strong results and in the rest you fail to meet chairman's goal but overall position might still be what chairman wanted... not sure what happens here, is chairman satisfied because of your overall position?)

I was stable 9-8th among the teams in ERS but with a wicked last double-points race I jumped to 5th on the table thanks to soem bad luck on the opponent's side and to an extremely tight midifled pack during the year. Now I could pick 7th, 5th or 3rd as target for my next season which I obviously couldn't achieve because my car was nowhere near developed enough. Even though it got better, I got fired before the results started to come.

In my 2nd season managing a team I created my chairman's goal was 3rd in APS (after relegating from WMC without scoring a point). After a strong effort in the season finale (2nd and 4th), I ended up finishing the season tied for 3rd but losing the tiebreaker (presumably wins, which they had me beat on 3 to 1). I played through the off-season up to when we leave for the season opener and I didn't get an ultimatum.

The situation I ran into is that the ERS voted for points for only the top 5. I had a target of 8th but somehow all but 1 of the other teams managed to get someone in the top 5.

Fortunately in the 2nd to last race I managed to go 3rd and 5th. Seems odd that you could have chairman happiness at near 100% and still get fired for missing a target by 1 spot.

Well. The chsirman always ecpect to Finish on the last years position. So it should be doable. You even could lower the goal by 2 position.

However ifcthe chairnans happiness reaches 0 then you have a last chance to Finish in a certain position before you got fired.
