The new "Countdown" mission
So last night i played a round on this new map and i got to admit i dislike the level design. Don't get me wrong to break into a rocket silo is a nice idea and i like the whole Action Movie design the execution though was poor.

The cart pushing is time consuming and for me it was a filler for that mission. The map has potential like breaking into the armory get some explosives or pick em up from a dead drop nearby. Maybe even improvise and launch the missle while the door is shut. Hallway shotout some multilevel platforms like in Odins Fall.

Speaking of odins fall in the silo when you used all the Switches the lock Pick game confused me. Why lockpicking a switch to turn it on? Not to mention the recycled voice lines i believe on time Sterling mentioned something about an air ship and the gas.

The part with the conveniend prachute out of the mine aside the mission felt rather short and not really entertaining personally.

What are your thoughts?

What do you expect? This thread is from 2018, the original developers aren't working anymore on Raid, the new modder guys that were allowed to work and make updates for the game aren't going to perform major reworks of missions.

they are reworking the whole skill system, but maybe speeding up the cart is too much. (This is not a dis at the devs by the way)

They are fixing the core gameplay first. After that they have time to fix minor problems. A proper skill system is more important then speeding up the car in one mission.

Remember: Only a small team is working on raid right now. Maybe about four people.

Unfortunetly the way that map was set up is super potato, and all the triggers for the cart were timed manually so speeding the cart up would break everything :papyruswacky:
Only real way would be to re-script the whole level, and at that point we should just remake it completely cos its bad even layout wise

Wow, if the current Devs says it was bad from the start, imagine how the game was already bad from the start. Fundamentally l mean, it does shows its problems quite easily and l hope it will be improved.
The stealth parts of the missions is what holds my attention but the missions that have lot of loot in them are easily the worst(the get 8 of them), assuming you can find willing people for stealth or even to sit back.
Anyways, side tracked.
What's the ETA again for the update?

While l know updates break mods, there is one mod(bots have feelings) that l love using since makes bots more tanky and makes them throw grenades if felt surrounded(despite that, they still die instantly from the explosion even if l increase their health). l don't know if in the design, the idea of making bots more tanky(for higher difficulty) ever came to mind or it felt like it was cheating.
l play online mode with bots but don't want to feel all alone, unless if l disabled the team Ài and the game becomes easier until some player joins in
