mono vs stereo sound

I'm have troubling figuring out if mono or stereo is the way to go. I fell like stereo is the "propper" way to hear the audio but I can also see how using mono can make the voices sound like they are more in your head. I use astro a50 gaming headset, standard EQ and without using its "soround sound" which according to my own oppinion is ♥♥♥♥.

Let me know what if you use stereo or mono and why you have chosen the option you have.

Voices were binaurally recordered meaning with stereo headphones you'll get the best possible and intended experience.
And even though they're imaginary voices they're don't have to sound from the point inside the head.
