Why does Senua, chop Dillion's head off?
She could of perhaps chopped a less disturbing part of his body instead to carry around, like a finger or toe. Does this perhaps have something to do with Celtic tradition or the like?

That is actually very interesting theory of yours, I have never heard such a narrative of this game before. I have one question though, how do you interpret the very last tale told by Druth (if you happen to collect all the runes throughtout your trip): "But I wasn't the only one. Another came to the Northmen willingly, offering a bargain. A man in black from your lands. And he was offered safe passage for his treason. In the end, Senua, it isn't the gods who cause us so much suffering. But those closest to us." It is clear that Druth is reffering to Senua's father Zynbel who was responsible for Senua's village being massacred by vikings.
Now this quote has made a very interesting thought come to mind! What if perhaps, the person that exposed the village to the Northmen, was actually Dillian? Seeing how Durth says "But those closest to us" would make me think that perhaps it wouldn't be her father, considering the kind of relationship she had with him.

While your theory might be correct I still think that was Senua's father. I think there are three key points in Druth's last tale: "A man in black", "He was offered safe passage for his treason" and "Those closest to us".
1. "A man in black". Correct me if i am wrong but Dillion wasn't shown as the man wearing black cloak during the whole game when Zynbel was wearing black druid cloak.
2. "He was offered safe passage for his treason". From these words i believe that vikings let Zynbel go and we know that Dillion was brutally killed. Could vikings betray Zynbel and kill him as well? I think there is no clue of that in the game.
3. "Those closest to us". Senua had just two people who really cared about her: Senua's mother Galena and Dillion. However, i think Druth did not know real relationship between Senua and Zynbel. We can take family tree for example: the closest persons are mother, father...and soulmate (fiance/husband in this case). Theoretically speaking, Zynbel is one of the closest person's in Senua's life despite the fact that he was the monster in her life. We have left only Dillion who was the CLOSEST person to Senua (keeping in mind that Galena was already killed). So we have these two sides here: a father and THE SOULMATE. The only question is how we see things and what we want to believe?
Is it just me or Druth = Truth?

Given that the head stays in its bag the whole time, can we be sure that it is in fact a head? The bundle is definitely smaller than Senua's head, and she holds it up to her face enough that we can make that comparison directly, and she doesn't act like it smells of rotting flesh. I think perhaps she made some sort of talisman to represent his head for purposes of transporting his soul. Perhaps she has convinced herself that it is literally his head at the start of the game. In the end I don't think she believes it's a literal head, because what she does with it is more befitting a talisman than actual human remains.

Of course, it's entirely possible that the head stays in the bag just because showing it would be a step too gruesome for the devs.

Well, if I left your head out in the sun to biodegrade, it probably will be about the same size too.
