I can think of the following games that you might find interesting:
-"Darksiders" saga: A Hack & Slash wich is about the Four Horsemen tale. The name of each horsemen are: War, Death, Fury (the only female) and Strife. DS1 is the story of War, DS2 you play as Death, in DS3 as Fury and DS4 ("Genesis" i believe they called it) It is said that you can play with War And Strife (never played myself).
- "Legacy of Kain" saga. If you don't mind playing older games, this might be of interest to you. They are two stories and two characters that are linked to each other. I thought there were 5 games in total: Blood Omen (Kain's perspective) 1 & 2 and Soul Reaver ("Raziel's perspective")1,2 & 3. In the last one, Soul Reaver 3, you can play with both characters as part of a paradox, the story of this saga is incredible, but it has aged very poorly in its graphics.
I hope this helps, regards!
And no, I am not looking games as you are describing, If you think the games I told are of that kind.
Legacy I have it on my Anbernic, thank you!
That's why I told you to forget about The Witcher, Fallout, TES, etc... Because they are games with huge maps, and they can be tedious to explore (Although I defend The Witcher, because its story is very well written and acted and personally I find it one of the best within its category). Currently, what you mention is happening, games with a lot of island-type content, that doesn't have much to do with each other and breaks the story, and being everyone's errand boy is boring.
That's why I recommended those old sagas, The Legacy of Kain and Darksiders, because their gameplay is well tied to the story, in fact for me they are novels made into video games. Ah! And last but not least... I forgot to suggest you "Alan Wake", I think it has a similarity to Hellblade in terms of the development of the story and a very appropriate soundtrack. Good luck and I hope you find other gems that make you vibrate. Regards!
And these aren't folklore/mytholgy but I would also recommend looking up Quantic Dreams and Telltale games as they are linear and story focused.
Thanks!!
Call of Juarez Gunslinger is very linear, very good narrated and paced story, wild west historical figures and environment.
I'm throwing guesses around, maybe you like them. Not exactly like Senua and God of War.

If you can bear adventure platformers, definitely play these movies: Kena: The Bridge of Spirits, and Ninja Theory's DmC Devil May Cry. Both very cinematic, environments, colors. Kena's got the middle ages' environment and the soundtrack is phenomenal with woodwind and percussion watery-like instrumentation.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider has Inca environments, awesome cinematic, but bear-with the gameplay a bit.
Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 has got some beautiful castle stuff going on, linear story too; but is arcade-y, and has a horrible stealth section like Senua :P
Ashen is souls-y and another with norse mythology going on but it's not cinematic at all and I don't recommend it much but it was ok. Nah, you might as well play Sekiro or Elden Ring instead of this to avoid the jank, and have epic fights. I've never played AC Valhalla. I totally recommend Dark Souls 3 though, it fits nicely with Senua and epic bossfights+soundtrack, but not cinematic. Vermintide 2 also is close in blood corpses and looks.

Thank you!
