Dont buy the game if you expect some skill based action themed gameplay.
Buy if you want a great and unique story telling experience with beautiful graphics and some decent fights sprinkled throughout.
this might or might not be the game messing with you... ... ... ;)
thanks for explaining what to expect. when i bought it i thought it would be somewhat similar to the new god of war due to a site recomened it as a similar game. and just coming from playing nioh the pace seems very slow. but im not going to refund because i like the concept was just worried it would be a 20h game and that might be more than i can handle. going to play it now and thanks again :)
thanks for that. wish i knew that before i restarted ^^ thought i ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up by dying after the hel door and again on the way to 1 of the bosses xD as i person with quite some diagnoses where anxiety is 1 of the lighter ones that message messed with me big time xD
Also, setting the game difficulty to "Auto" will eventually raise it above "Hard" if you don't die/fail, but will lower it signinficantly upon death/failure before raising it again.
I have tested this myself after wanting a greater challenge after completing the game a few times on "Auto" only to find it much easier on "Hard". So I went back to "Auto".
EDIT: Oh and the game length is probably about 8 hours on your first playthrough. Following playthroughs should only take about 4-5 hours. Of course, your milage may vary.
Learn and be skilled in evading sideways (A or D + space), not just backwards. And use the Fokus (E) when heavier opponents comes around, when your mirror allowes it...
Also, slowly walking back from enemies, while the music builds, only to charge in with a flying knee followed by a combo, single roll, finishing combo, blind parry to another enemy followed by a charged up finisher... never gets old.
Playing this way is self imposed difficulty, but I enjoyed it. It also looks a lot more cinematic than any YouTube video I've found.
You caaaaaaan just use focus or spam dodge and poke, poke poke the enemies and it's not a hard game.... yuck.
