Before I start playing... (no spoilers!)
Greetings ladies and gents!

My name is Kammellion and I'm a small time YouTuber as a hobby. I recently got my hands on this beauty of a game and can't wait to play it. However, I need some help before I start.

1. I heard much praise about the audio in this game, I will play with a headset. This headset has the option of using 7.1 audio. Should I use 7.1 audio for this or play the game in stereo (2.0)?
2. How does the saving in this game work? How can I save? When? How many times?
3. What is the length of the game for a first playthrough?
4. Any other tips? (no spoilers!)

As said above, please, do not spoil the game for me by telling me things I don't wanna know <3 .

Thank you all so much and merry almost christmas!

1. I can't help you with the audio question, but try both and see what works. Without wanting to give anything away, there's a fairly long section at the very start which sets the tone and the story, so that should give you a good chance to try both.

2.Saving is done automatically at checkpoints. When you see the spinning triskele, the game has just saved.

3. You can get through it in 8 or 9 hours, but if you take your time to absorb the world it'll take longer. I've played it through twice (the second time was for screenshots) and my first run through took about 14 hours according to Steam. Not sure how much of that was just with it open but not being played though.

4. Don't rush. Don't expect loads of combat. Don't panic about the rot (you'll know what I mean when you get to that bit). Do take time to take in the world, the character and the story. Also, it's worth finding all the runestones as they add a lot to the story. I'd recommend using a controller if you've got one, but that was just my personal preference. Play with the lights off. Be aware that the game can be quite an emotional experience. Pay attention to what the voices are saying. Also, ignore the voices.

This is amazing, thank you so much for all this @Gibbonici :D !

I also got a 7.1 headset, but played the game in 2.0. That works fine to me because the 7.1 version sounds a bit too unnatural. Even in 2.0 the atmosphere is amazing!

Playing with game pad is a good idea too. Played it with mouse and keyboard and it works, but after a view hours i thought playing with controller would have been the better choice.

My playthrough took about 11 hours. Take your time, dont hurry!

Haha thank you! The chameleon is kind of a mascotte, his name is Chris. You can see him in the YT banner and in the avatar icon too.
