HyperX is junk, always has been.
I much rather play this game with Speakers anyhow- but I wanted to try it with HeadPhones -and it sounds very weak...
-right click on the speaker icon on the task bar
-choose sounds
-click on playback
-scroll through the list until you locate speakers/headset
-right click, properties
-click the enhancements tab
-at the bottom of the list should be Loudness Equation or similar
-enable that and see if it helps
Ignore the crap about cheap headphones, I have a fairly expensive pair of steel series £80 and they can also feel low sometimes.
Update to latest Driver; High Definition Audio Codecs
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads
After install however, Playback & Recording might all be defaults again, FYI
Then set Speakers to:
> 2.1
> Full Range
In the Communications tab, select "Do Nothing"
In the Enhancements tab, tick boxes for:
> Equalizer > Powerful
> Virtual Surround
Then try the game again. If still not high volume enough, go back to Enhancement tab and tick box for Loudness Equalization, which can greatly help volume on Headphones or Laptop Speakers; basically speakers that lack amp boosting or overall high DB output all on their own.
Yup that's what I'm having. I am downloading the latest driver and installing it now (I had 1 version older than that one)
Let me test it out. Download from Realtek takes forever to finish. So slow. Do I need to uninstall the current Realtek driver first from Control Panel? Or just install over?
I was always under the impression that I should set it to max 24 bit 192,000 HZ but I never really understood what the hell "Default Format" means over there..?
Should I leave it or change to 192 K ?
Word of warning before you install generic Realtek drivers v2.82. The Sound Manager app has been removed. You can adjust most of the settings through the Windows control panel but some features are exclusive to the Realtek app. v2.81 is the last version to include the Sound Manager excepting custom OEM packages available for specific motherboards.
Hey - I actually have Realtek V2.81 in my backups folder. I think I will install it back again.
I actually use the Realtek Sound Manager to increase my Creative PC speakers DB and change distances to further boost them or apply quick changes like Loudness Equalization if I need it.
You can't change distances or add/lower DB with Windows Sound settings - so I think it's best I revert to V2.81.
Any cons about staying with V2.81? What are you using? Thanks btw.
I reverted to v2.81 with no issues.
Headphone Virtualization
Is that it?
I always avoided using Equalizers - should I really use it? Tried Eq- Powerful - and it sounds ok but can't quite tell the difference.
Loudness Equalization seems to have the biggest effect and amplifies the volume levels of the headphones by a great degree.
Question is - should I use these settings together?

please try

You can also use IObit Driver Booster
If you need a Pro Key for that app, let me know, I have extras.
If I recall correctly, the installer will uninstall first regardless. You definitely want to uninstall first when rolling back to a previous version so you may as well do it manually. You're going to lose a lot of your customizations either way; custom EQ profiles will disappear for example.
If it is just Hellblade, windows may have messed up and lowered the mixer volume arbitrarily.
