Inconsistency in a character's name. [SPOILERS]
I had a question about a possible difference between the PS and Steam releases.

[padding for spoilers]

In the Japanese version the name of the SK is Genocider Sho, but it was always my understanding that it was Genocide Jack in the Western port.
However, while the dialogue itself refers to him as Genocide Jack, the name on top of the dialogue box is always Genocide Jill.

Am I missing something here? I'm confused...

1) Wrong forum. And reported for it.

2) USE SPOILER TAGS MORON. And pad your bloody post so it doesn't come up in the mouseover pop-up.

3)Genocide Jack is the name given before anyone even knew who it was. Like the historical figure Jack the Ripper or the mythological figure Spring Heeled Jack from British culture. Jill is the feminised version given the discovery of the individual.

She call that herself once, a bit jockingly when was exposed to everyone. No one call her that if I remember correctly, but it sticked as a name on top of her dialogue box, I guess just for fun.
And because of difference of names in their cultures. I read something like Japanese name for her works for both genders (or that being male name it pronounced similiar to a female name with different spelling, and vice versa), but in translation it became as we see now. Artistic translation.

I just curious if Jill and Jack come from infomous criminal.
Then what about Sho. Is it come from some criminal in Japan?

My apologies, I tried my best to fix it. Hopefully this will get moved.
As Shirsh said, Genocider Sho wasn't named after anyone, it was just chosen because it's a masculine unisex name, which sets up the surprise of his true identity.
