Is there a mod to show where all the townspeople are on the map?
Because I SERIOUSLY need one to get past the game's opening; it wants me to talk to all 28 people in town - on a time limit no less - but I have no idea where they are, and I don't particularly care to wander aimlessly around town hoping I bump into them on accident. Also, It's been forever since I last played the game, so I don't remember where they are from when I got past this point the last time I played this game, which was - not counting booting it up a few minutes ago - roughly 4 years ago.

NPC compass is also a neat addition. You can hold down a configurable button to activate the UI overlay.

There is the mod. Also, I don't think the quest is on a time limit. I don't think you even get anything from it or at least nothing important.

I wish that were true, but I'm pretty sure the game wants me to introduce myself to everyone by the end of the day. On top of that, I have a sinking feeling the game will scold me if I don't. So it's either get a mod, or don't play the game.

It's not limited to one day. I've completed it many times, even in my current new 1.6 playthrough, and never complete it the first day.

There is no time limit. You get a friendship boost with every townie after finishing the quest.

It would be seriously unfair to expect newcomers to greet everyone at day 1. Especially with our resident basement dweller.

Okay, but you're wrong.

there no limit and the purpose of the quest is so new commers will play the game and explore the town and learn where they are thats the focus of it.

UI Info Suite 2 if I am not wrong. Warning ahead though, there are more features than what you want.

Oh, no. The first time I played I don't think I finished that quest until halfway through spring. Even now it took me three days to finish it.

Except for quests that come off the bulletin board none of them are on a timer. I didn't even bring Pam a pale ale until year 3 once....

I think they're referring to Emily's bulletin board quest of talking with every person in the town, which I believe does have a time limit.

There's a help wanted quest where Emily wants you to talk to everyone in two days. I've gotten it multiple times.

Right. Not sure if that quest is still a bit iffy with the newest patch. If you talk to people before accepting the quest on the same day then they do not count as talked to for the quest and you have to remeber to talk to these people on the next day. Basically if you forgot who it was, you end up running around talking to anyone because it ends up being more effective then trying to figure out who it was.
