I like to think of it more as Stardew Valley Silk Song, personally

I think he's mostly been working on the recent big Stardew update, so he put Haunted Chocolatier on hold for a while. He'll probably start working on it again now that 1.6 has come out on consoles.

I hope he can see the game too, otherwise we can probably forget about it if he has gone blind. Never forget that he essentially works alone. So things take time.

I think he said he was pausing work on HC to do this and would then be going back to it. Now that 'this' is done, I expect he'll go back to that. =)

As others have said, once the dust settles on 1.6 a little, he'll probably get back to it for a time. The 1.6.9 update seems to have kicked up a real hornets nest though.

It must be the syndrome of perfectionists. Look how meticulously crafted Hollow Knight and Stardew are. None of them is going to release a new game, unless it reaches their unrealistic expectation. Which might be Never and that's fine as well.

The difference between the two though is that Team Cherry started to tease Silksong many years ago and by the looks of the trailer back then, development seemed to have gotten pretty far. And then, radio silence... And then, delayed... And then, radio silence again...

My best guess is that something went very wrong or that they were not happy with the story. Could also be a mix of both. ConcernedApe has never teased that we are getting a sequel, remake or even a remaster to/of Stardew Valley.

I can see Team Cherry just being incredibly stubborn about not giving out any info about silksong rather than lazy. It works for keeping the hype but now it starts to backfire due to being way too long. I doubt there will be much if any hyper left when Silksong comes out.

Not providing updates as to how the development is going is laziness. Not revealing much or barely anything at all about the content is more likely stubborness.
