if you fish in the little lake on the farm you get a lot of broken cds and broken glasses which you can turn into refined quartz using a recycling machine. Useful if you're trying to make a lot of sprinklers

wow, thanks a lot bro. ive been mining at layer 50-55 and use the elevator to restart for bat wings iron and quartz for lighting rods
now i can get more quarts wayyy faster

Why did I not think to do this sooner? I've been in an extream need of quartz because I'm making all my pathways out of the "Crystal Pathway" for a more modern look, but I keep hitting dead ends due to the quartz.

They show up in crab pots as well, if you don;t take the talent that removes junk. I usually get enough from pots to not worry about quartz ever

Yeah, I took the crab pot skill and threw out tons of crab pots, so I usually have about 12 trash items to recycle a day. It keeps me paved in already-refined quartz, gets me bonus coal to boot, and also keeps me loaded with plenty of extra sashimi for gifts.
